Hi Collin, I want to tell you how much I appreciate your site. I was just on FB and there was an ad for a free Gillette razor and $5 coupon. I clicked and was brought to a blog with the ad. I clicked on the ad and in little print it says “with completion of program requirements” down below “requirements may include….purchasing items”.. Thank you so much for filtering out stuff like that that wastes my time!
🙂 I think your site is the best!!!

    • Dara

I totally agree, I have also tried other sites and got bombarded with useless texts and emails! Thanks Collin.

I have yet to go to my dollar tree and see if they are in fact accepting coupons. I plan to go tomorrow. Would love to hear how other hip2save followers are doing using coupons there.

    • Annette

I’m in SW Michigan and have gone to 2 different DT and have had success at both. The cashiers were obviously nervous about taking the coupons but both times, they tried ringing it without having any help and were successful and pleasant… I know that not everyone is having success, but I’ll take it while I can!! Good luck!

      • Ashley57

My Dollar Tree was very helpful and I got some great deals. I am lovin’ it!

    • Deb

Add me to the growingly positive list of DT devotees~~~
I’ve been 2 times, got a dif cashier each time & they both had no porblems keying in my $1. q’s for all the free Olay bars, Shredded Wheat & Efferdent. Going back Sat. for even more!

  3. C

its nice that dollar tree is taking coupons. unfortunately the dollar tree by me isn’t very coupon friendly. the cashier practically snapped at me when i gave her my coupons. she didn’t know how to take off the discounts . she also told me that they don’t take internet printed coupons. i’m still going to shop at the dollar tree and use my coupons. i just hope that the cashiers will be trained better.

    • Deb

You may use 2 IP’s per trans, per THEIR Q POLICY! You may need to take a copy with you to train their cashier LOL 🙂

      • C

i had my kids and was in a hurry so i didn’t get a chance to print the policy. i knew she was wrong but i didnt want to argue over $1 coupon. 🙂 i have since printed the policy and put in my coupon binder.

  4. Grace

its been great i used the olay coupons and got twelve bars for a total of .90 cents good luck to you!

    • Tarri

Which Olay coupons are these? TIA

  5. Wendy

My Dollar Tree accepted my coupons. They did, however, examine every coupon and compare it to the item that I purchased — so allow extra time at checkout just in case!

    • Kristy

Same here! Took forever to cash out, but I’m use to that! Had to have manager come over and individually go through each coupon and product thoroughly and punch in, as they do not scan. Some deals are nice, and others I feel I can get a bigger box for cheaper at the grocery store. But for others may be a good deal. Happy Shopping at the Dollar Tree everyone! 🙂

  6. Tina

Just called my dollar tree store they said they accept only the sunday paper type coupons no printed coupons from the internet …. here in central CA

    • Kristy

You should print out their policy from their website! Allowed 2 printable coupons! Good luck! Each store always has right to refuse what they want 🙁

      • Tina

ok thanks will do that at least i can try 🙂

    • Leslea

I just shopped at our Dollar Tree here in Visalia CA, and they accepted my 2 internet coupons just fine! They were very coupon friendly and loved that I was using them so they could all learn how to input them on their registers 🙂

  7. Deb

Thanks Grace, I forgot about the Olay coupons !!!

    • Tarri

      Which Olay Coupons are these?

      • Caro

Per Collin’s Coupon Database, there are Olay coupons in the 8/26 P&G. HTH.

        • Tarri

          Thanks for answering.

I just got off the phone with one of the Dollar Tree operators named Bernice. She said that the Dollar Tree does in fact take $1 coupons but the instructions written on the website are confusing. She said it was going to take some time to iron these issues out.

I told her I have not gone to the Dollar Tree with my coupons based on all the negative comments I have seen so far. I asked her what I should do if my coupons are not accepted. She said to call back and report the name of the store, the manager and cashier you dealt with and that corporate would follow up.

I told her that if they simply changed their written policy to state that they took the $1 coupons, that they could avoid all these calls and negative uproar. She agreed but I guess she’s only the messenger 🙂

I would strongly recommend that if you have had a negative experience with Dollar Tree to immediately call them at 1-877-530-TREE and report the problem.

In fact, call while you are standing in the store and see what kind of results you get!

I have been to my two local Dollar trees and have had no issues even when I am getting items for free. Yesterday I got three boxes of Hefty One Zip bags ( Sandwich and Gallon size) and two boxes of Shredded Wheat for FREE! I also paid very little for Dial Bar Soap 3pk, SNICKERS and Bounty Basic Paper towels.

    • Deb

WOW, Sandra-thanks for all the other great finds!

    • Tina

yeah thanks for posting the deals that u found. I just got back and looked for all the items u mentioned I even got the olay bars of soap for free. the cashier didnt let me use the fruit roll up coupon she said it had to be the 10 count, I know she was wrong but I didnt feel like arguing because everything else went well. She said I was the second person to use coupons there only one person before used 1 coupon lol

  10. nicole

I went to my dollar tree and had no problem using my coupons.Thanks.

  11. Tarri

It says they don’t accept free coupons if price is not on q, what about ones that say up x.xx underneath the line. Anyone try one of these yet?

  12. Lisa T

I just wanted to let you all know that I’m in Palm Beach County Florida and the DT by my house is ACCEPTING Q’s. Granted I went on the first day that it was live and right when they opened. So they were “OK” with it as they were trying to remember what the email stated that they got from their cooperate office. The manager had to come & help as this was all new to them so I didn’t bombard them with alot of purchases. Just made 4 to keep it simple for them plus they know me since I go there to buy the SUNDAY paper for only $1.00!!! Thanks Collin forputting up the deals to help me save $$$ and stay home <3

  13. Becky

I was excited to hear Dollar Tree would now be accepting coupons but now after reading these comments I’m skeptical about going it and possibly being humiliated when trying to use the coupons! What do to? What to do??? Anyone on here tried any stores in Utah?

  14. Mark

I did take a copy of their manufacturer’s coupon acceptance, from your website to three Dollar Tree Stores in Clark County, NV, and the store managers at all three, said, as I recall they weren’t told anything from their district, regional manager, or from their corporate office about accepting any coupons at all at their stores. All three store managers did suggest I bring the coupons I have to Dollar General or Family Dollar stores.

    • Amy

I would call corporate. This needs to be dealt with. I am sure you won’t be the only one who has to go through this at these and others like them.

  15. Audrey

thank You! I just recently found your site.. I love it..

  16. Norma Anderson

We went the other day and we were the first to use coupons at that Dollar Tree, very friendly cashier and no problems.

  17. Valerie B.

Hope this hasn’t been asked or covered yet…how many manufacturer’s coups can you use in the same transaction for the same item? For example if I have 10 coups for a colgate toothbrush can I get 10 toothbrushes and use 10 coups in one transaction? or is there a limit on how many manufacturers coups you can use in one transaction? I know there’s a 2 internet coup limit. thanks

  18. Sophia

  19. Lisa

I have a question being a coupon person myself, I need to know how to tell if a internet coupon is real or a copy. I use them alot but when asked how do we know if it has been copied. I don’t know what to tell them. Please help!!! . And please understand the cashiers are just doing their job they have to make sure the coupon matches the item. Thanks for any help.

Hey there,I am so sorry but I need to vent to someone,I am so upset with Dollar Tree,My son is a Diabetic,Just found out 4 weeks ago,So,fruit roll ups and apple juice anything that is less then 15 grams I buy,I had 2 coupons for fruit roll ups,I printed out from your blog,I went to check out and the young men says any coupons,Yes I do,That youg men gave me such a hard time,Told me this is a dollar store and things cost one dollar, one dollar, and this screws us up, and just went off on me,I had six people behind me,after 25 minutes later,He let me go,(He thought my coupons were fake)REALLY!!!

  21. bhw

Okay okay, I broke down and went yesterday and here’s what happened. They took my coupons. But they did each item and each coupon as a single transaction. So I had 20 different items and they did 20 different transactions….painful!!!!

And before any of you go off on me, I am not hoarding. Furthermore, there was still plenty of items on the shelf after I got what I needed.

All of my deals go to anysoldier.com.

This is a wonderful website that you can go to if you are interested in helping out our nation’s soldiers. The soldier posting will give a list of things he/she and their unit needs. You can choose to help either a male or a female or both! You need a special box to send these (you can obtain them from the PO) that allows you to send as much as you can for a flat rate.

Wishing you Collin and all your readers a very happy holiday weekend!

I was pretty bummed by my trip to Dollar Tree today. I went in knowing that I might have a bad experience, so at least I was prepared. I had my DT coupon policy printed out and in hand. Had only 4 coupons to use. 2 were $1 off coupons (Shredded Wheat and Olay bar) and the other two were like $.55 (Hefty and Welch’s fruit snacks). The cashier said they only allow 1 coupon per TRANSACTION. I nicely showed her the policy which stated 1 coupon PER ITEM. She also said I couldn’t use the $1 off coupons b/c that would mean I’d be getting the item for free and the policy states that no coupon will be honored if it is worth more than the value of the item. I tried to explain to her that $1 is not MORE than the value of a $1 item, rather it is THE value of the item. She wouldn’t hear it and gave me my coupons back. She tried to call her manager on the phone but it went right to voice mail. So, I told her never mind and that I’d try back in a few weeks when maybe they’ve gotten things a little more straightened out. We were both polite and cordial, but I left bummed and only with the Hefty bags which I really needed. It seems to me that with such a large corporation, they would take the time to train their employees and explain well the policies before implementing something like this.
