Hip2Save may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you via trusted partners and affiliate links in this post. Prices and availability are accurate as of time posted. Read our full disclosure policy here.

THIRD UPDATE: Target posted the following in response to someone questioning the BOGO coupon on their Facebook page…

SECOND UPDATE: Before you head out, you may want to read through the comments below to learn about Hip2Saver’s most recent experiences.

UPDATE: After reading through the comments, it sounds like many of you are skeptical that this deal will actually work at your local Target. As I mentioned below, it worked just fine for me an hour or so ago as the cashier simply scans the Mobile Coupon barcode on your phone and the savings are applied automatically (the cashier does not have to key in any info). If you do indeed head out to test the deal, please share your success stories and/or any issues that you experienced below.

Wowza! Throw on your running shoes and sprint over to Target for a smokin’ HOT deal! If you are not yet signed up for Target Mobile offers, you’ll need to text OFFERS to 827438 (note that standard text messaging fees will apply) and click on the link that will be immediately texted back to you. Fill out the required info, follow the directions and you will receive a unique link for several Target Mobile coupons valid through October 4th – note that it took about 5 minutes for this text to arrive.

One of these Target Mobile coupons is valid for Buy One Accessory Item (sunglasses, jewelry or watch) and Get 1 Free up to a $58.99 value. And here’s the best part – clearance items do qualify and the higher priced item is the one that is ringing up FREE in the system. That means you can snag a FREE Accessory item (up to a $58.99 value!) when you purchase another accessory item on clearance – and yes, this makes for one *Smokin’ HOT* deal. Check out what I just scored at my Target here in Boise…

Buy 1 pair of Earrings $2.38
(note that clearance prices will vary but you should be able to find a similar deal)
Buy 1 Timex Watch $49.99
Use the Target Mobile coupon valid for Buy 1 Accessory Item Get 1 Free (cashier just needs to scan the barcode on your phone)

Final Cost $2.38 for both item!! Amazing!!!!

Come back and let us know what you are able to snag!

(A BIG thanks to reader, Sara, for emailing this deal!)

Deal just worked @4:45 pm central time. I requested coupon earlier though, around 2:30pm.

    • jack

      what exctly did you buy?

      • shanshan

$49.95 CASIO men watch that looks heavy duty (military color…) with dark green olive frame/ belt with orange accents. Upc 0 79767 97363 6, and a lizard earring on clearance $2.38

        • jack

          thanks

  2. lineth

Thank you Collin for the Post and My 2 cents in this is if you feel is offensive to anyone that Collin is posting this deal just do not do it and move on. Let other people judge what Deal they want to do or not.
But do not judge Collin for posting the Deal

    • shanshan

      Can not agree more!

    • Christine

It is the company doing this deal not the customers ripping them off. The best deal I ever got was a $70 playmobil set at ToysRUs for $11 and change. It rang in as a childrens winter coat instead of playmobil. I pointed it out to the cashier but he just let it go.

  3. Amber

Worked just fine for me, FL. The cashier didn’t have to do anything at all, the computer did it on its own.

  4. Kris10

Thanks Sooo much Collin for this deal! I’m in desperate search of a good (cute 🙂 ) watch! Hopefully there will be some good women’s to choose from and if not- my dad is ALWAYS needing a new watch but is too cheap to buy one! Nice Christmas present! I hope it works for me!!!

  5. Mourrene

Like another poster said, Collin was just posting the deal and telling us her experience. We’re adults so we decide whether to do the deal or not. We’ve all benefited from too many deals on this website to be bashing her for something that’s not even her fault.

If you feel that it’s wrong to redeem the coupon, then don’t use it. It’s that simple. Personally, I’m not feeling sorry for Target one bit because their prices are high anyway.

  6. paula

Went to my Target earlier and they had pulled ALL the watches, the shelves were empty, lol, I did get some earrings though, one pair on clearance for $2.39 and some for $19.99 and it did take off the $19.99 pair so it is still working but my store got clever on the watches:)

    • Kris10

      Aw! 🙁 what location?

    • Dayna

That is a bit overboard. What if someone came in for a watch that had no idea about this coupon?!?

      • Wren

Sheesh… exactly, Dayna! Especially when Target has VERIFIED that this is legit, why would they clear the shelves…silly.

        • Wren

(And by verified, I mean their Facebook response confirming it WAS for a higher priced item to be used once.)

  7. Kaley C

Can you use mobile coupons more than once? wondering if I can use it later again…

    • Jennifer

No you can’t 🙁 Unless you have two separate phones 🙂 Usually, after you use it the first time, it will say “redeemed”…..

  8. kellybelly0513

Worked for me here in MI around 5 pm. I bought a pair of earrings for $5 and got a Timex watch that was $35 for free. Thanks Collin!!

  9. Kris10

Does anyone notice the fine print does NOT say “free item must be less than or of equal value” like most coupons say? It just says max value $58.99.

  10. Monique

Worked for me in Lehi Utah. The cashier even called over a manager & they said it was fine

  11. ali

Companies make mistakes all of the time, and some will honor their mistakes and some will not. Of course, no one wants Target to raise prices or freak out because of money lost, but the fact is, that probably won’t happen. I have seen countless coupons that been revised to add things like “excludes trial and travel sizes”, “excludes clearance”, etc, that have been a result of companies being more careful as to the wording on the coupons and their intentions. Every company’s advertisements and coupons should have someone verifying their accuracy before they are released to the public, and if not, so be it. Target made their bed, now they are laying in it. Lesson learned for next time. I hope everyone has a great evening!! 🙂

  12. kim palmer

    you! the best!!!

  13. Dina

I just went to target at 5pm est. I bought a timex band on clearance for $2.98 and a Casio g shock watch for $49.99. The cashier scanned my coupon total came to
$3 something. No problems. My sister bought $3 earrings and a timex iron man watch for $45. Her total was $3 plus tax!!

  14. Julie

Was heading there anyway to get the little mermaid DVD deal so this worked out great. Got a $45 women’s ironman watch with $2.59 clearance earrings and paid $2.59. Anchorage, Alaska. Thanks!

  15. marissa

I just got this deal too! Works in Silverdale, Washington. I got a $40 timex with a $2.58 pair of earrings. So happy… I have a really hard time with christmas gifts because I am a college student and I have 20 family members to buy for. So this sort of deal helps me out so much. I couldn’t afford to get anyone gifts with hip2save’s help!

    • Samantha

Hey Marissa, I did the deal there too no problem! Where did you find the clearance earrings? I bought a $4.99 one since I didn’t see any and I was in a hurry.

      • marissa

Hey there! I had to do some looking for the clearance section! When you walk up to the earrings, on the right you’ll see the display that says “$4.99.” Well you look to the left instead and see a rack display. On the side facing the back of the store is where the clearance is. If you’re still having trouble seeing it, just look at each display on the side facing the back of the store. One of them will have it! I swear they just try to hide it from people! 😉

  16. Piddlepoo

Worked for me, don’t get all bent out of shape….these will be on clearance and free with coupon in the future. If it is a mistake or if it isn’t, they make these in china so….boo hoo!

  17. Sam

Just did this deal and it worked!! Tn

  18. Kinz

Drats! I used that coupon 2 days ago, but I thought it was an “equal or lesser value” type deal, so I got two necklaces both at $16.99. I made sure they were the same price. OH well, still a decent deal.

  19. Misty

Are they not sending the mobile coupons any more?

  20. Claudia

Collin mobile coupons have the following terms on the bottom….

“…Coupon value may not exceed value of item purchased. No cash value…”

    • Renee

The coupon doesn’t take off more than the price of the item. And what that is say is if an item is $2.00 but the coupon is for $3.00 they will adjust the coupon down to $2.00

      • Claudia

Not on a B1G1 free. The coupon value then becomes the amount of the free item.

  21. monica

My target wouldn’t let me. The coupon scanned fine but the cashier called the manager over (who was very rude) and said it was an error and I only got the earrings for free. I paid for everything because she was so rude and I’ll take it back to another target tomorrow.

  22. Autumn

Got a cheap looking pair of clearance earrings ($2.38) and a big, lovely pair of sterling silver hoop earrings ($24.99) for an after tax total of $2.61! Worked in Tacoma, WA at 1:18pm. Thank you thank you thank you!

  23. Autumn

    Always choose your cashier wisely.*

  24. kim

text is not working, my cell says access denied

    • crystal@Atlanta

That means you have third party block on your phone..I’m guessing it’s T-mobile? Just call them up and have them remove it hope this helps!

      • Kristen

Thanks! I always wondered why I get “access denied” every time I try to get a deal with my phone. 🙂

  25. Kristin

Collin – You are amazing and I absolutely love this site. Thanks for sharing this amazing deal!

  26. Tiffany

Heading there now 🙂 hopefully it’s still working

  27. andrea

I saw a couple people in front of me get the deal. Didn’t know what they were doing at the time and why it came up so cheap. Cool deal!

  28. Tia

Not sure if anyone us interested but I have two codes for free burgers from Ruby Tuesday that was posted like 2 weeks ago. It expires today and my dinner plans just fell through so I’d hate for them to go to waste.

    • Tia

I can forward the email just leave yours so I know where to send it.

  29. Sarah

Just got some items for birthday/Christmas presents thanks to this deal! I give Target way too much of my business to feel bad about it. 🙂 Thanks so much for the heads up!

  30. fla_gen

    Worked in Pinellas Park, Florida.

  31. ryan

Very ashamed in Collin. I thought she was a more ethical blogger. It’s obvious to her and all that this was just a glitch in the system. Normally I didn’t think she was the type to exploit these errors and couponed honestly. Feeling a bit disgusted.

    • kelly

I’m sure that companies never intend for shoppers to leave with free items when they put out coupons, but we are probably all guilty of taking home freebies. I don’t see a problem with taking advantage of a good deal, there was nothing sneaky going on. It was their coupon, and their system accepting it.

    • dantim123

I agree with Kelly, as the coupon has absolutely NO restrictions on what item has to be free. So, I don’t understand why you are calling her unethical and in some way “exploiting” some one. She DOES coupon honestly. So I don’t understand your rudeness to her.

    • Rebe

I am assuming ryan that you are SO disappointed on Collin that you are not visiting her site anymore and you will not take advantage of all her work in the future, correct?

  32. Christine

    Still working in Cincinnati 😀

  33. kelly

Went through smoothly, though a few minutes afterwards we were stopped by the manager and informed that it was a glitch in the system. Lucky for her she was very nice about the whole thing and just wanted us to know it wouldn’t work again. (We were in the watch section so my hubby could get me a watch, too.) I felt lucky with the nice attitude, and we went home feeling pretty great about our free watch, and a little bad for trying to be greedy with a second one.

    • Wren

      Good comment, Kelly. 🙂

  34. Jamie

I cannot believe some of the comments posted here. All you negative nancys should be ashamed of yourselves and stop hiding behind comments on a blog. If you were in person many of these things wouldn’t be said.

Remember, Collin is a real person and has real feelings and trying to make her feel guilty is wrong. Because she did nothing wrong.

    • Daisy

Who’s hiding? Honestly and integrity is more important to some of us than “scoring” a cheap watch and Collin knows better.

      • Jamie

        Oh you are hiding.

        • Daisy

This is a conversation I’d be more than comfortable having in person over a cup of coffee. I think ethics are very important in couponing and think exploiting errors is very shortsighted (let alone encouraging others to do so.) It makes couponers look really bad and will only serve to make things more difficult in the future. We’ve already seen so many changes to couponing policies, values, the end of doubling, etc. because of the increase in opportunistic couponing behavior.

          • Jess

I truly hope you feel like garbage now since target admitted this is 100% legit

          • DianeNC

Coupon doubling hasn’t ended. In North Carolina, both Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods still double coupons.

      • Donna

Horrible attitude Daisy. Target’s coupon and Collin’s post were the legit way to use the coupon. Shame on you Daisy.

    • Anne

If we politely disagree, does that mean we are trying to make someone feel guilty?

  35. Kristin

    Worked great!

  36. Gundas

Just worked in LA, CA. But the manager wrote on the receipt that you can not return watch without returning earrings also said they are in the process if fixing

    • glylibra

i was about to try it and i saw this person trying to do the deal and then he had about 5 supervisors talk to him and then in short, they didn’t allow it =/ Im in LA too….drats, i should’ve just tried it..

  37. andrea

It worked this evening in Northern Virginia. I added the item to my weekly shopping list. No beep, no comment, and a really nice watch for $5 🙂 Regarding how ethical this is: Many said this is a glitch, they didn’t seem to think so at my Target.

Also I see no difference between getting free extra bucks at CVS to pick something for free or combining the coupon machine, extra bucks % off to pay next to nothing. You don’t get these kinds of deals every day and they bring people to the store.

I got a really nice item to add to my charity raffle and I hope it will bring $20 for a little boy who is fighting Neuroblastoma. I don’t feel a lick of guilt.

    • marissa

      you. are. awesome.

  38. Emily

Oh man, this is like the lemons all over again! Collin-you are the BEST, please ignore all this negativity!

    • Rebe

      Well said Emily, lemons everywhere!

  39. steph

What I find interesting is that out of the 15 to 20 blogging sites I follow on a daily basis, none of them posted this deal. To be blunt. not even totallytarget. It really doesn’t matter what I think about a deal versus what Collin or anyone else thinks. I personally wouldn’t do the deal because I feel it wasn’t worded correctly. Even though it is working for people. There is no way Target is going to basically give away Timex or any brand watch for free knowingly. I feel something was left out and I would hate to be the person responsible. I just know that I couldn’t look down at a watch every time I wore it without feeling guilty. As much as I love this site I am definitely thinking twice about what I read here.

    • Daisy

TotallyTarget and SouthernCaliSaver both skipped listing this deal- huge kudos to Kelly and Josie!!!

      • Rebe

        Are u still here Daisy?

      • trace

Lisa, if you read totally targets post, it doesn’t say to buy something for a few bucks and then get something expensive for free as sample scenarios. They were talking about the coupon just being good in general and stacking it with a cartwheel coupon.

    • Jodi

Have all yo left this blog yet ?? Go to the others you like so well bye bye. I also hope you never get a free item with your coupons you might feel bad lol

  40. Cristal

I am too chicken To try but awesome steal

  41. Aubrey

Good gravy. Negative nancys need to do something better with their time then bring someone down over a Free watch. In all honesty it took probably a whole 20cents to make in china & then get marked sky high & slapped with a name brand. You never see 401 positive comments about all the other great deals Collin spends her time posting, but oh you better believe everybody comes out to be negative. Do something better with your time, how about all the other freebies that you didn’t feel bad about partaking in, donate them to a women shelter. Your stock pile which could most likely look like a hoarding problem, weed it out & give to a food pantry. For everyone else that thinks Collin has helped pinch pennies through tough times, keep on following her & being positive. Thanks Collin, this Michigan chick loves ya!

    • sara

Thank you I agree!! I am in WI so hey neighbor 🙂 Honestly, everyone has taken advantage of awesome deals whether it was meant that way or not – this is no different than stacking coups & rewards to get free items. I love how many act as though someone is RIPPING OFF Target – seriously? their prices are marked up which is why they offer coupons to begin with… and this deal falls into the same category. We love you Collin!!!! Haters gon’ hate!!!

  42. Bree

To be honest, I’m not above doing this deal, but I was surprised that Colin posted it. I haven’t gone out to Target yet. Legal vs ethical vs moral.

  43. Bree

What other blog sites do you follow, because I onl follow 3.

  44. lenny

This thread reminds me of congress… useless and taking us nowhere. Keep up the good work hip2save! I have saved hundreds with all your tips We sould alll be thankful this is an online topic, other wise there would be too many ready to cast the first stone.

  45. Jess

Collin, you are awesome. People who are portraying this ‘more holy than thou’ opinion, stop using coupons. Because every $.50 you clip is money out of that company’s pocket, increasing prices for all of us. Might want to check that plank in your own eye.

  46. jennine

worked for me 7:50 in NH

  47. Allison

It actually worked!!! 8:28pm Northern Virginia. Nice clerk, almost laughed when the coupon dropped my total. Someone’s Christmas stocking just got a whole lot better : )

  48. Lisa

Did it 3 times at 7p in Ct .. Lady in front of me did it 6 times.. She taught me to get screen shots of family and friends mobile coupons to use.. The cashiers look baffled!

    • leah

Exactly why a “deal” like this RUINS couponing!!! The woman in front of you did it 6 times and you did it 3. Talk about completely unethical. No different than a shelf clearer or someone who copies a single coupon and tries to reuse it over and over. And us honest, ethical people wonder why cashiers give us such a hard time.

      • Alea

        AMEN Leah!!!!

      • Nick

How is this unethical? My friends and family send me their mobile coupon links. How is that any different than getting inserts from a neighbor?

        • fallon

          What are screen shots?

          • fallon

            What are screen shots?

  49. Toni

I went to target at 7 in mihigan. The coupon scanned but the cashier said she had to change it because I was not alowed to get the higher price item. I have a bracelet for 9,99 and one for 19.99. So I said no that’ll you

  50. Queenjen87

Worked back at 5:30 pm in Birmingham. I opted for clearance earrings for 2.38 and a clearance timex at 17.99 (nice leather band). Worked perfectly, but then again the cashier was busy giving me a hard time using the $7 little mermaid coupon with the $6 off promotion. *eye roll*. Had to stand my ground on that one.
