I am re-posting this *HOT* deal! I actually posted a bit ago… but the post got really confusing as it appeared to only work for Android users, HOWEVER it seems you can actually score this credit from other devices too! 🙂
Through December 24th, hurry on over to Amazon and opt to purchase one of the FREE games found here to score a FREE $5 Amazon credit! What’s SO sweet about this promo is that it works without actually downloading the game! Just go here and opt to download one of the qualifying free apps. If you’re NOT an Android user, it will give you a warning that it may not be compatible with your device, but continue regardless (as you’re not required to actually download the app to get your $5 credit). After doing so, add anything to your cart and when you go to checkout, your $5 credit will automatically be applied. SO awesome! 🙂

I used a referral link from one of the commenters here and did the app download as well. I got 2 emails saying I got a $5 credit so I assumed I have $10 in total. I added a $10 item to my cart and at checkout it’s only deducting $5. Can anyone confirm if it’s possible to use the referral credit and the app credit together or not? Thanks!
I got two emails also, but only a $5 credit. I figured their automatic system just sent a duplicate.
It must be an item sold directly by Amazon. Many 3rd party items are also Prime eligible, but the $5 discount only applies to items sold by Amazon.

Had to email them because I only received a 1 dollar credit and customer service was very helpful and credited the 5 dollars to my account.

Anyone able to get it to work on a Mac? What browser? All it does when I try to buy and app is send me to a get started button, then that takes me to a place to send a link to my email for the app.

OK, I finally figured it out on my own. You have to go in the Amazon SHOPPING app (it’s the one with the shopping cart logo, not just the Amazon app store, that was where I was going wrong), click on upper left for the menu and select account, and then scroll down and click on invite friends. That is where the promotion is detailed for $5 for you and $5 for friend and it give you your referral code there.

How did you get it on your iPhone? I see “get started” then it says I need to be on an android device
I opened the link from Colin’s post. Once it opened I opened the page in Safari. I then scrolled to the bottom and selected open Amazon Full Site. I then selected the app I wanted to download and then I selected get app. I also have a kindle and android associated to my amazon account.
