I LOVE their onion rings, I wish they had them year round. I also love their cheese crackers (just like cheez-itz), cheese sticks, ice teas (just like Snapple) SPICES $.99?? I could go on.

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Right!? There’s almost too much to love!

  2. jess

Anymore suggestions on ice cream flavors there that anyone has tried and liked?

    • Laura

I personally thought the ice cream was nasty. I big waste of money.

      • Charlotte's Mom

Agreed. The Belmont moose tracks was gross. Tasted like overly sweet fake sugar. I had to throw out the entire carton.

      • Beachmamma5

I was not a fan of the ice cream either, I bought the vanilla and it was in a black container.

    • Jessica

They have Gelato at a great price! I love the caramel. I like their cookie dough ice cream too.

      • jess

Love gelato..I will try it. Thank you.

    • Debbie

      I buy their Specially Selected
Super Premium Vanilla Ice Cream in the black container. It has only simple ingredients like cream and sugar, not the high fructose stuff. Tastes like homemade!

      • Laura

Thank you – I’ll keep an eye out – I live in Michigan so Hudsonville ice cream is pretty hard to beat

      • Jessica

Yes! This is addictive. For me to choose this over chocolate ice cream says a lot!

        • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I will definitely be picking this up on my next ALDI trip 😋thanks for the suggestion!

    • Lisa Koon

We’ve gotten the ice cream bars before and they’re so good. Love the strawberry one the best.

    • Lisa

I get the Special Selections ice cream. Chocolate or Vanilla only, but it’s only 4 ingredients!

    • Sandra

The Organic Milk prices are so reasonable

  3. Suzanne H

Spread just a little Kerrygold butter across the outside of tortillas before making a cheese quesadilla – my 9 year old’s favorite!

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Ooo yum! That sounds delish!

      • Yar

        I second that suggestion.

  4. Kristle

    Love there Cesar Salad kits!!

  5. Chrissy Goff

I love shopping there at Christmas so we can have all the German goodies we were raised on while stationed in Germany. The german chocolates are wonderful too.

  6. Jill

    Almonds, honey and String cheese

    • Jill

      And fit and active tortillas

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I love their almonds too! Such a great price since they can get kind of expensive at other grocery stores.

  7. Ashley

I agree with everything except my kids HATED the mangarin oranges. They prefer Walmart brand. Can anyone give me some feedback on their seafood. Just started dipping our toes in trying different kinds of seafood. We don’t have much access to fresh. We tried a frozen beer batter fish at Walmart and it cooked up so greasy it was disgusting.

    • Ph

Ashley seafood is good frozen fish is what I’ve tried. They have a satisfaction guaranteed if your not satisfied with ANY product they will refund your money no questions asked.

    • Jess

I’ve bought their frozen shrimp, mahi, and scallops. All good!!

    • PrincessMom

They have breaded fish sticks which I’ve found to be mostly just breading but the battered fish filets (in the blue box) are good. You just have to cook them a little longer than the box says so they crisp up a little. They’ve also got good pre-cooked frozen shrimp.

    • trisha517

The king crab legs are yummy and a great price!

    • Penny K

We eat their ahi tuna found in the frozen section. It contains 3 individually wrapped small tuna steaks for around $6. I drizzle a little olive oil on top and salt/pepper and throw them in the grill. They seriously end up tasting like a steak! My husband is not much of a seafood lover but loves the ahi.

  8. Ibetht

We love their cocktail peanuts with sea salt and their cinnamon graham crackers!

    • mAb

Mixed nuts for snacking are very good, and quite a bit less than Wal Mart. Our Aldi just did a huge remodel, which was a mess for a long time, so hoping they are done with that. But should be even nicer. Really don’t care for their meats personally, but have good buys on many other items. Love their household/gift items that change week to week. Very addicting to not walk by them! At least for me.

  9. Mama Bear

I LOVE their dark chocolate covered almonds. Their dark chocolate shortbread cookies & Natural peanut butter are a must also.

  10. Tricia

just a question.. please don’t be mean. I am curious as to WHY buy organic fruits, such as bananas and oranges- that have a hard peel on them? What’s the difference? Just trying to understand, because I walk by it in Aldi and don’t know why its there.

    • Harlow

Great question Tricia i would like to know as well I heard you don’t need to buy organic fruit that has a peel waste of money

    • Myrah

It’s because of the fertilizer. There shouldn’t be any kind of chemical in the fertilizer if it is truly organic.

      • Jen

Actually, this is not true. Organic produce is also produced with fertilizer that contains chemicals (technically everything is a chemical, but that’s another story for another day…), the only difference is that the fertilizer/pesticides can not contain synthetic compounds. In reality though, some of the organic pesticides can be worse than conventional ones, especially because they are not as closely regulated as conventional ones.

        • Dee

I second everything you’ve said. Not a big fan of the copper sulfates used in organic farming.

    • Ph

If your not eating the skin/peel then you just wash your fruit peel and eat. All organic is not necessarily organic a word trick thrown out by many companies

    • Vivian

I stick with the dirty dozen list to save money for organic items

      • Laura

Same here – on the dirty dozen list

    • Lana

Remember that they have a list of pesticides that are banned from any product they sell. Overall Aldi brands are cleaner than most. Especially after you add no MSG, artificial colors or trans fats.

    • riss

Google “dirty dozen” and “clean 15.” That’s the list I follow if i should go organic. But I prefer those without skin like cauliflower and asparagus organic/pesticide-free. And carrots. That’s just me.

    • PrincessMom

I’ve read that unless you’re eating the peel it doesn’t really matter if it’s organic.

    • Emily

The biosolids (aka sewer sludge) used in non-organic farming have tested positive for dozens of chemicals including ones in cleaners, triclosan, flame retardents and pharmaceuticals. The EPA says it’s safe, the USGS not so much. They found the soil and earthworms have become contaiminated from the biosolids, along with potential horomone disruption in fish.
USDA organic foods are not supposed to be grown with sludge, although I think there have been some issues with cities giving away biosolids as “organic” soil and later getting in trouble for it. Hope that makes sense and helps.

    • Gingergirl

I know a woman who gets organic bananas because she juices her banana peels. She puts them in this thing that squeezes all the liquid out, then she adds the liquid to her banana smoothie. Apparently it’s healthy or something like that.

  11. Myrah

For me, Aldi’s is either hit or miss. There are some really great items that I LOVE at Aldi’s but there are some things that my whole family hates. For example, one item we just purchased from there was mussels in garlic sauce. Most of the mussels were closed and the sauce had no taste. I’m hoping that some of the items you mentioned are really good because I would love to try the chocolate, maple syrup and ground beef.

    • Ph

Myrah you can return any product if not satisfied for a full refund. No money lost on their products.

    • kharrington

Just a heads up. We make pure maple syrup straight from our VT trees. The ingredients should say nothing but sap. If it says anything at all other than that… you’re not paying for pure maple syrup! Often times we see stores selling pure maple syrup and water is added. That’s not pure. Maple syrup is 100% straight from the tree. You add NOTHING! Don’t be scammed 🙂

  12. Donna`

I’ll give a shout out to their Plain Non-Fat Greek Yogurt. So good and lower in sugar (and Price) than other brands. I pickup a container every week.

    • L

Yes! The big tub of plain Greek yogurt is delicious, high in protein, and not “Greek-style”.

    • muquee

Thanks for posting Donna. I will try their yogurt.

    • MCouzens

Yes! All though I like the Unsweetened Vanilla Greek Yogurt. Only 12 grams of sugar per serving compared to Chobani which is 20 grams per serving. And it’s $2-4 cheaper per large container.

  13. patti

Aldi’s will take back anything you try and don’t like – no questions

    • Myrah

Wait, what??? If I opened food and tried it but didn’t like it, I can return the package and they will refund me my money??? Really?

      • Laura

ALDI has return and exchange policies that vary depending on the type of product purchased. Double Guarantee: Any unused product can be returned, together with the original packaging and receipt to an ALDI Store Manager. You will be given a refund of the purchase price and issued a replacement product.

        • Beachmamma5

I returned a can of soup and a pork roast. They did not replace anything, only gave me the money back.

      • Ph

        Yes Myrah it’s their policy

      • Susan H

Not only that but they will REPLACE the item as well. So you not only get the money back but a new page of whatever it was for FREE. They have a double back guarantee.

      • Sarah

Oh yes, I somehow picked up some moldy blueberries (the only bad fruit I got all summer, all the other produce from Aldi was great!). They refunded my money AND let me go get a fresh pint of berries!

        • Ank

If I would have knew this policy, I would have returned everything I bought from Aldi. I had very bad experiences with Aldi. Didn’t liked their chicken drumsticks at all, tried one of the chocolate popsicle icecream and it was so nasty. Once got the eggplant and it wasn’t cooking at all, even grind it too still was not eatable. So decided to never go back to Aldi.

  14. Mrs.W

I second the recommendation on their cookies! They are so similar to girl scouts for a fraction of the price and any time I want them!😉

    • Leah

      I agree! They taste great

  15. Mary H.

    Lacura Face Cleanser
    Lacura Q10 Day Cream
    Lacura Q10 night Cream
Compares to my Mary Kay products at a fraction of the cost.

    • JA

Oh, I will I have to check that out! I usually skip the health and beauty section.

    • Christina

      Lacura creams are awesome!

  16. Jam

The Dark Sea Salt chocolate is my favorite! Plus it’s packaged in little bars which makes it even better to just a little bit.

  17. Mary

I didn’t know aldi had so many good options, and its 5 min walking distance. Thanks.

  18. Meg

New to this, what is Aldi’s??? Obviously a grocery store, but what’s it all about? I’m in AZ, are they coming to my neck of the desert anytime soon?

  19. chris

I 2nd the organic produce, organic milk and their chocolates and cheeses are great. Their cookies are also amazing my kids love them.
I pass on eggs form my local aldi’s, tried them a couple times and they are very low quality, super pale color. Compared their organic ones to Nellies and was so obvious which ones where which. Tried Aldi eggs enough I stopped buying any there.

  20. Queenjen87

The winking owl wine. I’ve recently gotten into wine and I’ve tried over 30 bottles and varieties. And the best by far to me is the aldi brand wine. 😂

    • Hollylovesherwine

We mix it with Whiskey and makes drinks called “Blinky House Wife” instead of the Winking Owl… LOL!!! Love me some Aldis wine!!!

      • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

My ALDI doesn’t have a wine section but I hear great things about the wines they offer!

    • Sarah K

YES! They have a fabulous wine selection at great prices. Cannot beat the Winking Owl at 2.89 here in GA!

    • Melanie

Check out the chocolate wine available around Valentine’s Day. It’s wonderful!

  21. Naomi

Hummus, Elevation bars and the Chinese frozen mixes.

  22. CO Mama

SO WISH we had Aldi in CO😕

  23. Dkp91576

I love getting their artificially flavored coffee creamer, next to the half and half. So cheap and yummy flavors like cinnamon roll. The meat (happened with chicken and pork) is always an issue for me so I stopped buying it. I get home and it smells funny or is completely rotten. I think their fridges just aren’t cold enough and if the product doesn’t turn over quickly, bad things happen. They take it back but I still need meat! I prefer ShopRite because I can choose a cut and they wrap it right there. Aldi Saltines are fantastic, great price. Potato chips too.

  24. Sravya Bolla

Love their form antibacterial hand wash…have been buying their brand since three years… Milk, condensed milk, evaporated milk are great for desserts. Ground nut oil is tastier if you cook a lot gravy’s. Plant pots, flower bouquets are cheapest at 3.99 and the bouquets stay fresh for weeks together

  25. Jessikac

Their diapers are awesome! No leaks & no rashes! Great value for the low price.

    • Alicia

Yes! I get tired of trying to find good deals when I’m not stocked up. I find them comparable to Luvs or Up&Up brand, but always cheap.

  26. Yar

I love pretty much everything from aldis, even their easy home gadgets for the house, serra apparel and dippers. I just bought a box of 70 diapers for $10.49 s5 and past the leak test, I will continue buying them.

  27. Angelica

I agree. The diapers are soooo amazing. Was very durable, no rashes. It has a cute little print on them and only for 2 or 3 dollars? That price is amazing !

  28. Vivian

How much is the organic ground beef? I usually buy from target at 7.99 per lb, but when they have the 5 off 20 or something like that.

    • Lana

      4.99 at my store.

  29. Michelle

My son loves the Aldi chocolate spread !

  30. Lana

Organic coffee beans from Peru. Dried fruit. Hard cider. Homemade style noodles. Lemonade is better than Simply. Mint cookies. Quarter sliced ham. Artisan lettuce. Our eggs are great as is the milk. Olive oil. Butter at 1.99 lb. Whole chickens always .95 a pound and very good. My store has Nathan’S hot dogs for 2.69. Frozen salmon and veggies. Stir fry veg w sauce. Organic vanilla yogurt in quarts. Sour dough bread. Chibbatta rolls and brioche breads. German sauerkraut. Etc!

  31. MrsK

    Thank you.

  32. L

I like their milk, eggs, fresh produce, bagged spinach, fresh salsa, cheese, yogurt, chips, potato chips, frozen wild caught salmon, tater tots, frozen brussels sprouts, ground light roast coffee, and much more. I don’t like their cocktail sauce (not enough horseradish).

  33. Laura Whelan

Their “thin mint” style cookies are amazing and less than $1 a box. We also really like their fresh, ready-to-bake pizzas.

  34. Debbie in PA

Add me to the Aldi lovers! I do about half my shopping there. In addition to the items already noted, we like the Barissimo Fair Trade certified K-cups and bagged coffee. Last night I got the 12 pod dark roast K-cups for $4.29. I think as good as any premium brand. To add to my love for the chocolate, much of it is UTZ certified, which means sustainably farmed. Also Rainforest Alliance and FAir Trade certified. We like the Simple Nature products, such as the tortilla chips, and my DH and DD love it with Casa Mamita Salsa Con Queso. I buy the Fit and Active 40 calorie bread which has 6 carbs per slice. Best tasting low carb bread I have found and costs $1.79. You cannot beat any of their produce specials. For instance, avocados were .69 each two weeks ago. That may vary with market, but was extremely inexpensive for this area (Phila, region) I always get butter and half and half there and save about $1.00. There cut flowers at $3.99 are a nice treat, and I have purchased really nice seasonal plants there as well. Finally there seasonal special are awesome. The other week I bought a bag of frozen jumbo sustainable caught wild scallops for about $5 less than the ones at my other supermarket, and they were delicious! Yes, the selection is somewhat limited overall but the quality and prices are great.

  35. Jeanette

I love their gluten free brownies!!

  36. Sue

I’ve been shopping at Aldi for the last few years, but I don’t buy ALL of my groceries there. Some things we really like are: all flavors of Benton’s cookies, frozen cheesecake slices where you get 2 per pack, like raspberry and turtle (since there are just two of us), extra sharp cheddar cheese, Caesar salad kits, organic spinach, canned pumpkin, canned kidney beans, and canned crushed tomatoes (for making chili on the cheap), baking staples like baking soda and powder, vegetable oil, and my husband likes the nutty bars, chocolate covered pb bars. He says they are better than the Little Debbie brand. A few things I tried and hated are frozen toaster waffles, like Eggos, and their frozen pizza, and canned biscuits that you bake. I never buy meat there either.

    • Francine

Love those 2-pack turle cheesecake slices. They also have whole specialty cheesecakes on occasion in the deli section. Right after they opened in my area they had a pumpkin one that was scrumptious. Never had it again since, but that’s how they roll with the specials.

  37. Kristie

I love Aldi for one huge reason – their house brand products do not contain any artificial colors. My son has an allergy to these, and it is a great feeling to know I can buy him the Aldi version and he can eat it safely while not hurting my wallet one bit!!

  38. Emily

    Pretzel rolls
Berries are usually super cheap (99¢ a lot of the time for blackberries and blueberries)
Hummus is a lot like sabra
    Stroup waffles are awesome
    Mixed nuts
    Pesto
    Basically I love it all!

  39. Sarah

I’m surprised to see their BRIOCHE BREAD not listed on here?!! That stuff is dangerous!! Especially the vanilla swirl one!

    • Sarah V

yes! We love it as french toast…very dangerous 😂 It’s a lazy Sunday treat! And a great, inexpensive Christmas morning option for a crowd.

  40. Brandy

We can honestly afford to eat BETTER because of Aldi’s. (In our area) all of the produce is just as fresh as our local pricey family chain AND always better than Walmart. Some if our recent sales: 1.99 for 3 pounds of mandarins, .99 organic fresh spinach, .25 avocados, .50 raspberries, 1.89 for 1 pound of sweet peppers…I haven’t EVER had prices like these in our local grocery/WM stores. We personally love Clancys’s veggie sticks, giant containers of cashews with sea salt, elevation bars (tastier than Clif…and we were die hard* Clif fans), all of the “simply nature” organic kid snacks (applesauce pouches, fruit strips, white cheddar “cheetos”) all of the Never Any brand (nitrate, preservative free) breakfast sausage, bacon, etc. Fat free milk for $1 per gallon…. I could go on and on…plus we get more fruits, fresh veggies, and less preservatives than shopping elsewhere with the money we budget. We are a family of four, I’m a SAHM, with one special needs child, and ZERO assistance of any kind. It’s been a HUGE change for our little family!

    • Francine

I so agree, Brandy. I never shopped there before until they opened one just up the road from me (and Wal-Mart) last year. I have health issues and have started to eat better since I’ve started shopping there. I also love those giant jars of cashews (but salt free), fresh fruit/vegetables (best price on bananas organic or not), Simply Nature brand baking products, granola and granola bars, rice chips, Millville oats, unsweetened applesauce, and almond milk. Now that I’m focusing on “clean eating” and cutting down on sugar, I’m going to have to limit buying those cheesecakes and other goodies they sell.

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

SO happy to hear that ALDI has had such a positive effect on you and your family, Brandy! 😄

  41. Susan Crawford

Aldi’s is the best for baking supplies. Flour, baking soda, baking powder, pan spray, vanilla extract. I always buy there. Potato chips are cheap. I usually buy their boneless chicken brearts, but I butterfly them and then I freeze those individually and I have not had a problem with them. Their cheese selection is great. I also like their specialty breads. Take my own bags, a quarter for the cart and I am good to go.

  42. Elle

The pane turano Italian bread is the best!!

  43. Maya

list of things we buy and like
    1) ready to bake pizza – great price
    2)Priano Mozzarella cheesse
    3) sourdough bread – Great for paninis!
    4) Mini avocados in a bag! – great price and value
    5) Organic spices! – aweseome price and value

  44. PrincessMom

The chocolate covered peanut butter cookies are just like the girl scout ones. They have a fruit and nut chocolate bar that’s comparable to the Cadbury one. (I’ve found that most of their chocolate is good.)

The creamy salad dressings (blue cheese, ranch) tend to be a little bland and oily but the other ones like Italian, French, etc are really good. Their condiments in general are good, their ketchup is pretty much the same as heinz (or at least I think so).

The frozen pizzas are pretty good, their rising crust pizzas are almost as good as DiGiorno and for the much lower price I’m happy to take the slightly lower quality. I only buy DiGiorno when there’s an amazing sale/coupon deal.

I’ve gotten the diapers and found them to be better than Luvs and almost as good as Pampers. Can’t beat the price! The puffed snacks and pouches of baby food are great, too, and much cheaper than Plum Organics or Gerber. They also have some really great flavors for them.

Their canned veggies are amazing and inexpensive, I’m really surprised they weren’t on this list. We use the peas, corn, green beans, etc. We used to buy the sliced beets in a can but they don’t have them anymore at our store–we’ve been getting jars of pickled beets lately. I’m hoping they come back with the sliced, plain beets.

Speaking of veggies, they have a good selection of steam in the bag frozen veggies. I like their broccoli and brussels sprouts. The frozen asparagus is really good, too.

Their jarred pasta sauces are also good to keep on hand and they have a nice selection of rice mixes and pasta mixes where you just add chicken or ground beef, etc.

  45. JUDY TRAC

is their ground beef really a good price? how much is it per pound>

  46. AilineAZ

I sooo wished we would have an ALDI in AZ! The only chance I get to shop there is on my way back from CA twice a year after a trip to the beach.

My dog loves the Shep biscuits! The tissues are the best deal anywhere. Please put an Aldi store in NM. Miss it terribly 😥

What I really like and always buy are: the baby wipes and diapers for daytime use, the moo tubes (like gogurts), frozen garlic cheese bread, corn dogs, winking owl wine, milk, cheese, baby snacks, breakfast bars, and so much more! Oh and pumpkins are always the best and cheapest here, we akways get our Halloween pumpkins here.

Oh, I forgot about the steam veggies! There is an Asian blend that is $1.50ish and it’s $2.87 for Birds Eye at WM…which is all I used to be able to find. Steam brussels sprouts are .96 cents each and $1.97 at WM. We love both! That is a huge savings without a coupon! They have an organic tomato/high fructose FREE ketchup that is AWESOME if your kids are into dipping things. I use the salt free chicken broth, sugar, spices, baking flour, salt, and yeast for baking. We love the frozen sugar free bagged fruits for smoothies and homemade gelato/popsicles! I also love the “seasonal” items they showcase…we haven’t tried anything we haven’t liked!
