This Reader Treated Her Kids to a Movie Night & Popcorn for Under $10
One Hip2Save reader stacked offers to give her family a night out for under $10. 🍿
This week’s Happy Friday reader Roxanne pays attention to the available deals! By stacking multiple offers, she was able to take herself and her two children out for a movie night at AMC all for under $10!
Savvy shoppers like Roxanne don’t just take advantage of deals, they combine multiple offers to get the lowest price possible. Not only did Roxanne visit the movie theater when prices were already discounted, but she used deals from two different apps to get the price down even further. Way to go, Roxanne! 🙌
“I love saving money! I have the Fetch Rewards App where I don’t have to worry about anything but taking a picture of my receipt, and depending on what I buy I get points. I just redeemed some points for a $10 AMC gift card so we could go to the movies”
“We also go to AMC on Tuesday where its only $6.50 for standard showings, and today on the T-Mobile Tuesdays app we get a free large popcorn! So we get a great movie night out for the family (one adult, two children) for $9.50! That’s half the price of a regular adult admission – for the price of three – with a large popcorn! Cant beat it, and why I love paying attention to deals!”
Wow! What a truly amazing deal! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us, Roxanne! 🙌
Readers can use some of these offers too! Let’s break down Roxanne’s savings…
The first deal that Roxanne took advantage of was making the smart choice to visit AMC on Discount Tuesdays. This day is when the theater offers discounted tickets that cost just $6.50 a piece. For her group of three, admission would have been $19.50. If she went on a different day, her adult ticket could run her as high as $16.99 and $14.99 for each of her kiddos. That’s almost $47! 😱
To get her cost down even further, Roxanne used Fetch Rewards, Our team LOVES this easy-to-use app that gives you cash back on your purchases and even grants you extra reward points for buying certain products. If you rack up enough points, you can cash them in for gift cards to some of your favorite places. In this instance, Roxanne redeemed her reward points for a $10 gift certificate to AMC. This brought her admission to just $9.50 for her entire group of three.
And why pay those high concession fees if you don’t have to? For snacks, Roxanne used a T-Mobile Tuesday offer to score a FREE large popcorn. That saved her at least $8.10 on food! If you’re not familiar with T-mobile Tuesday, it is a fantastic perk of being a T-Mobile customer. Every week, the T-mobile app has new great deals and freebies that customers can use. If you have T-Mobile, make sure to bookmark our post on T-Mobile Tuesday deals so you don’t miss any of these hot offers!
After capitalizing on Discount Tuesday ($27.47 in savings) and applying all of her rewards (at least $18.10 in saving), Roxanne saved a total of around $45! 🙌

Make sure to take extra zip loc bags in your purse. I take 3-4 gallon size zip loc bags and then use those to separate the large popcorn into smaller serving sized containers. The bigger bag leaves more room for them to squeeze their arm in to get popcorn so less chance of you losing precious kernals than if you would use a smaller bag. And some theaters will allow for free refills of their largest sized popcorn, so that’s another reason why we buy the biggest one and then divide it up (although many theaters around me have stopped the free refills since the beginning of the pandemic 😕)
Thanks for these helpful tips! Great idea to have the bags on hand to split up the popcorn and keep it from spilling! ❤️🙌🍿
To save even more money at AMC theaters, they sent me this email with an offer to extend my Premiere membership which anyone can purchase
Summertime is movie season! Join or extend AMC Stubs Premiere™ for only $15+tax and earn $5 Bonus Bucks instantly, plus enjoy a year of premium perks.*
I did receive the $5 Bonus bucks in my account immediately after renewing my membership which allows me to buy tickets online with the fees waived and I have a special line when entering the theater and for the snack line which is awesome since those lines on weekends are long!
That’s great, Kara! 🎉 Thanks so much for sharing the offer you received and how awesome the perks have been! So happy you’ve been able to score the savings! 🥰
