3 Easy Frozen Banana Desserts
If your family is crazy for bananas like mine, you’ll want to make these 3 easy frozen banana desserts! Even better, these recipes call for just a few simple ingredients that you likely already have at home!
What I really like about these recipes is that they’re perfect for snacks for when the kids get home. They’re also better than popsicles when the weather grows warm. Plus, they taste so great, kids don’t even really care that these are also healthy snack options. These recipes are a lot of fun to make, too!
Easy Frozen Banana Dessert
yield: 2 Servings prep time: 5 Minutes
4 frozen bananas, sliced
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Directions: In a food processor or high-powered blender, blend frozen bananas making sure to stop and scrape down bananas off the side a couple of times. After a while, you’ll notice a creamy, ice cream like consistency! Then blend in the vanilla. Feel free to experiment adding in a tablespoon of peanut butter, Nutella, chocolate chips, or honey for an added twist! This is such a great tasting healthy treat your family will love!

3/4 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup hazelnuts (optional)
Directions: Peel and cut bananas width-wise so you make 2-3 inch long pieces. Cut off ends so each piece has two flat sides. Top each piece with peanut butter using a pastry bag and frosting tip. In a double boiler, melt chocolate chips on the stove (or melt in the microwave for 15 seconds at a time and stir). If the chocolate chips clump, melt in a teaspoon of coconut oil or shortening to smooth chocolate. Dip ends of each banana in chocolate and dip in hazelnuts if desired. Place on a parchment covered tray or plate. Freeze for 3 hours and enjoy!
Awesome post! My family love frozen fruit treats and bananas are pretty cheap lol. Lina- your posts are always worth the read! Thanks
Thanks!!
how long do you freeze the bananas for and with or without the peel
If you are making the frozen dessert in the food processor or high powered blender , peel bananas and freeze them until completely frozen probably 4 hours or more? I would do overnight. Thanks!
Yummy! Can’t wait to try
I just bought BANANAS!!!! Can’t wait to try some of the recipes! Thank you!
I recently tried the frozen bananas in the food processor recipe. It’s delish!
My sister and I didn’t like the way the frozen banana “icecream” tasted by itself. For some reason it was a bit gooey and slimy. Here’s what we do:
1 frozen banana
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of ice
Blend it in a nurtibullet (or similar appliance)
This is more of a thick milkshake consistency, but it’s absolutely delicious!! If you want chocolate, just add nesquik, but if you’re trying to be healthy it’s great on it’s own!!
Lina, thes look amazing!
BTW, can anyone thing of something clever to write on a Teacher Appreciation card that goes with a McDonald’s gift card? My daughter’s teacher loves Big Macs, but I can’t think of anything adorable to say. 🙂
What’s about…thanks for all you do! We are your biggest MC Fan!
Cute!
I did a quick google search and found a someone using a Happy Meal box as a gift bag with a tag that said, “You make me super happy.”
Thanks for the Big Mac of a year!…You’re the best McTeacher! ha I don’t know. That’s all I have. 🙂
Thank you, Ann, JA and Lina! I knew someone here could help.
We always just slice up bananas that would otherwise ruin and freeze them for a snack later. The popsicles would be fun. This is so much more creative, thanks Lina!
My kids and I just made popsicles with bananas and Nutella. We had to add a little milk since our smoothie maker wasn’t powerful enough. Poured it into molds and froze for 4 hours. They were very yummy!
Great ideas!
These look so delicious. I’m definitely going to try some… and they certainly must be so much cheaper than frozen bananas at the store… $5 for barely any… Great money saver… and fun to do… Thanks, Lina. Love your recipes!
You’re welcome! Thanks for reading!
I was thinking of buying some of Trader Joe’s frozen banana bites (20 for $2), which seemed like a good deal, especially since it’s already done. Maybe I’ll make my own! Maybe I’ll make my own AND COMPARE! YUM!
I almost bought those TJs bananas yesterday! I also figured it was easy enough to do at home.
I add 2 cups of milk per banana and other fruit like strawberries or blueberries for a berry delicious fruit smoothie!
I love love frozen bananas Lina! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this post. I have already made the chocolate dipped bananas twice. You are inspiring me!
Yum! Love those 🙂 Thanks for reading!
If you freeze the bananas first, it will freeze the chocolate faster so you have less run off and waste. They’re also ready to eat sooner!
