Warm & Gooey Caramel Stuffed Baked Apples Recipe Are a Must-Make Fall Treat
Roasted caramel stuffed baked apples drizzled with melted chocolate for a delicious fall treat!
Ready to up your caramel apple game?! 🍏🍎🤤
The fall festivities have begun which means you need some autumn snacks to celebrate! Consider baking a pan of these insanely delicious caramel stuffed apples for your next fall gathering.
These apples are sure to make you feel warm inside because this snack embodies everything fall has to offer!
These apples are spiced, roasted with sugar and butter, and then stuffed with caramel squares. 😋 The grand finale is a chocolate drizzle followed by chopped toffee candy bar crumbs.
Hip Tips for making the yummiest baked caramel apples:
- You can make this recipe with either green or red apples! I think BOTH are yummy, so I’d just go with the type of apple your family would prefer or what you find on sale at the store.
- These Kraft wrapped caramel candies melted beautifully. And since they are individually wrapped, I asked my kids to unwrap them for me and then let them (and myself!) enjoy a few as a thank you. 😀
- I loved using this pumpkin pie spice I made on these baked apples complete with cinnamon, ginger, clove, and nutmeg. You can also purchase store-bought pumpkin spice if preferred.
- The chocolate drizzle and toffee bar crumbs are optional but oh so yummy. Feel free to skip if you’re going for a little less sweetness. I think adding chopped nuts or another favorite candy bar would be great too!
- To save on time, you can buy pre-chopped toffee bits to avoid having to crush up the toffee bar yourself!

Roasted spiced apples get stuffed with caramel candies and drizzled with melted chocolate for a delicious fall treat!
Ingredients
- 3 apples
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/4 cup water
- 18 soft caramel candies
- chocolate bar or chocolate chips, for melted chocolate drizzle (optional)
- Heath candy bar, for chopped toffee topping (optional)
Directions
1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cut each apple in half from the top down.
2
Scoop out the core and a bit of the inside of the apple using a melon baller. Place all the apples in a 2-quart casserole dish.
3
Brush the top (cored side up) of all the apples with melted butter. Sprinkle sugar and pumpkin pie spice over the top. Pour a little water into the pan to help steam apples.
4
Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes for medium apples like mine. Bake larger apples for a total of 20 minutes. Take the apples out of the oven.
5
Place 2-3 pieces of caramel candies in the middle of each apple, depending on the size of your apple. Return to bake for another 10-15 minutes until caramel is melted.
6
Chop the chocolate bar into pieces and place into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave for about 30 seconds until melted. Stir and then drizzle over the apples.
7
Chop the Heath candy bar or use Heath toffee bits and sprinkle the crumbs over the apples. Enjoy!
There’s nothing quite as comforting as the smell of baked caramel apples!
My family loved this treat and I appreciated that it was easy to make and can be adapted to taste. It would be easy to double and make for a larger crowd too. Enjoy!
We’ve got another unique way to make caramel apples that are kid-friendly too!
Thanks for the amazing recipe! We just went apple picking so I’m definitely trying this for our tailgate party next weekend!
Oh how fun! Enjoy Suzanne <3
Where has this recipe been all my life? You all were some of my favorite people, but now! Now, my all time favorite people! This may be life changing for me- can’t wait to make them!
Yasss!!! I love to hear that -Enjoy <3
Would this be good to serve the next day? I’m thinking this would make a yummy treat for my daughter’s class on her birthday.
Hmm. Maybe if you can warm up again before serving. I felt like it was better a little warm.
I could see trying this, not that I’ll eat it…house will smell good though and the fam may like it. I think I’ll skip the candy optionals and add a granola topping before baking. Finish it with a scoop of vanilla and call it a day!
Wow I love that idea!
I have almost all the ingredients for this except chocolate bar and drizzle. I guess I will have the less sweet version, pretty sure it’s still gonna be great!
Yes I bet it will!! I like another readers suggestion of serving it with vanilla ice cream! Yum 🤗
I have been doing apples like this minus the caramel and chocolate for years. I sometimes use brown sugar instead of white sugar.
This looks amazing. Can’t wait to try it. Thank you
Thanks Dottie Enjoy!
