I made this the other day after my daughter and I tried and loved a very similar version from our grocer’s deli. At $5 a pound, though we’d better make our own, and it’s just as delicious!

  2. amber

Do you use the allready sweeten punkin in the can are just regular punkin

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

No just the unsweetened pumpkin purée

      • Paula Brim

Do you make the pudding or just mix it dry from the box ?

        • gwen

I just mixed it dry from the box

      • Ronda Jackson

The pkg is a 5.1 oz not the 1.5 oz that the recipe states…. the numbers were reversed

Thanks for posting, Collin!! Having a party next week and EASY is key! 🙂 (Picture appears to be the 100% pumpkin vs the pumpkin pie filling which is sweetened. I would imagine the cool whip and pudding sweeten it up plenty).

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re so welcome! Enjoy your party next week! 😀

  4. Cassandra

This looks delicious! I will be trying this next weekend. ☺️

  5. Jessica

I just made this last weekend!!! Delicious!!!!

  6. Susan

I am going to try it with fat free cool whip & sugar free pudding;would more than likely still be good & less calories!

    • PattyC

As a new diabetic, I want to find something tasty for the holidays. Your suggestion sounds great. Wonder how many calories? Serving size? But I am looking forward to trying this.

    • Linda Jacques.

I make it sugar free, fat free all the time. It’s still delicious! Great for diabetics.

  7. Stefanie

I made this but added some softened cream cheese too and blended it up… soooo good!

  8. chrissy

Do you add milk to pudding or use dry mix only?

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      No just the mix.

      • Carm

Can’t wait to try this. What crackers/cookies do you use to dip?

        • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You can use graham crackers, Nilla wafers or even apples could be yum.

  9. Linda

I wonder if this would be good with chocolate pudding.

    • Teetee

Was it? I’m thinking the same thing.

  10. JenniferS

I bet dipping graham crackers into this dip would be delicious!!

  11. Debbie

Off topic but I have a code for 10 free birth announcements from Shutterfly that I wanted to share.

    Expires October 31. Enjoy 😀

  12. Kate

Use to make this all the time when I first got married — thanks for taking me back – YUM!

  13. Heather C

I’m going to find the sugar free jello & Cool whip and make this for my MIL who is diabetic- now I need to find something low-carb to go with it!

    • i❤pink

      How about some fruit?

      • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

Great idea! I bet apples would work!

  14. Christen

I love this dip with the Nyakers Gingersnap cookies from World Market. They are so good and come in a pretty tin.

  15. Holly

I went to a party this weekend and the recipe was similar. Canned pumpkin, cool whip, vanilla yogurt and cinnamon. Follow the funfetti dip recipe for measurements (substitute the cake mix with canned pumpkin) but just add cinammon

  16. Jennifer

FYI, that pumpkin roll of Lina’s that you see in the picture from last year is also wonderful.

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      Oh thanks Jennifer!

  17. Jessica

Could you use butterscotch pudding? What’s your thoughts before I ruin a good thing?

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

Hmm I think if you love butterscotch and you love pumpkin why not?! Ha sounds interesting! Let us know if you try 🙂

  18. jenn

Can this be made a day ahead of time?

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

Yes. Keeps well in the fridge.

  19. Abby H.

My daughter and I made this and it was great!!! Thank you for the recipes, this will be part of our Thanksgiving dinner 🙂

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

  20. Kim Rosenbrock

This is absolutely, amazingly delicious. It will be a new family staple.

  21. Cb

This could be made with a light version for weight watchers ?

  22. Dee

What serving size is the pudding mix. I have 3.5 oz/4 servings. Do you use half the box?

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

My box yields 6.5 cups pudding -hope that helps. It was a sugar free box so I think the oz. may be different.

  23. annie

what do you use for dipping?

  24. 123chrissy

No such thing as a 1.5 oz. box of pudding, I believe it’s a typo and should read 5.1 oz. which is a size that’s sold. Can you confirm?

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

I can confirm the sugar free pudding I used was 1.5 oz. if you zoom in on pic you can see it. A regular version of boxed pudding will weigh differently.

      • JODI

I am so confused about what size pudding to use? I am using regular pudding. Please help

        • Lauren

Did you ever figure it out? I could only find 3oz box that yields 4 1/2 cups & it’s not sugar free. Not sure to use whole package or half?

  25. Pati

Now that they’ve come out with a pumpkin spice pudding mix in recent years, do you think that would make it too pumpkin-y if I used it?!

  26. Ashton

How many does this serve? I am wanting to make this for a fall party I am going to but there will be quite a few people there so I want to make sure I have enough.

  27. Dominique

Am I supposed to make the pudding or just add the powder mix????????? Help!

  28. lori

can you use this same recipe for a pie instead of dip

  29. Jimmie

How long does it stay good for after refrigerate

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Should be good in the fridge covered for a couple days 👍

  30. Jenn

If I don’t have a mixer handy will it be okay to just stir it with a whisk?
