Welcome to my Site!

I’m so glad to have you here!
Take your time to browse around and familiarize yourself with my site! I have loads of money saving posts, frugal deals and steals, freebies, online bargains, and much more! I update my site quite often, so check back on a regular basis for new finds… and with that I mean check back hourly!
Here are some features and functions you’ll want to be aware of:
You can subscribe to Twitter, become a fan on my new Facebook Page, and subscribe to my other feeds available.
____________________________________________________________
The categories are easily accessible at the top of my site. The main categories are listed in the top navigation bar. This goes across the top of my site under the logo. You can also scroll through all the categories available by clicking on the “Show All Categories” (orange button) on the upper right hand side, below the “Follow Me” section.
____________________________________________________________
I have a link to my top 5 posts of the day. These are the posts that are most viewed by readers. Click on the “Daily top 5” for those. This is located to the right of the “Show All Categories” link.
____________________________________________________________
There are “Share via Twitter and Facebook” links on all posts. If you find a deal you like on my site, this option will make it very easy for you to share these deals with friends and family. Read more about how to do this on my feeds page.
___________________________________________________________
We have a list of the popular stores I post about here on Hip2Save in a blue box on the right hand side. This box is called a Tag Cloud. Basically, the bigger the text, the more posts I have about that store. Click on any store you like and it will take you to the most recent posts for that specific store.
____________________________________________________________
The main stores that I post about on a regular basis have store guides available. These stores are Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Walmart, and Target. You can access the store guides by either clicking on the “Store” tab in the top navigation or by scrolling to the bottom of the site and clicking on the store guide images on the right hand side.
_____________________________________________________________
I have a video player on the right hand side of the site to show the current “Follow Me Monday” video posts. This is my money saving video series where I have you come along with me on my interesting (and maybe a little dorky) couponing adventures!
______________________________________________________________
Finally, there is a bunch of info at the bottom of the site. This includes info about me, links to my favorite printable Coupon sites, and all Couponing 101 posts to help you get started.
_______________________________________________________________
…AND I’ve just added even more new features as of 6/7/2010:
1. Email a Favorite Post to a Friend: To use this feature, click on the envelope icon below each post. You will then be prompted to add your friend’s name, email address, and any additional remarks. What a great and easy way to keep all of your friends and family informed of the latest deals and coupons!
2. Printouts of Posts or Sections of a Post: You can now print your favorite post, or portions of that post, by clicking on the printer icon next to the post. After you have clicked on the printer icon, a printable page will be shown. You then have the option of removing unwanted sections of a long post before printing the post. Simply roll your cursor over a section of the post: This action will cause the section to be shown in red highlight with a red X to the right of the section. To delete a section which you don’t want to print: Click on the red highlight or red X. To restore the section, click on the green arrow icon in the upper right hand corner of the page. Please note that this print option does not allow you to print the photo and/or the comments.
3. Coupon Database: Yippee! I am so excited about this new feature! Now you can find coupons for all your favorite products with the click of a button! The Coupon Database link is located in the top right corner of the site.
4. Hip List: This feature gives you a place to save your favorite deals and print them on a page. To use the Hip List, you must first register and log in. You will then see your “Hip List,” with a clipboard icon, running at the bottom of the Hip2Save page. To fill it with sweet deals, click on the LEMON icon to the right of each post. The deal will be added to your list, and the LEMON will be replaced by a refreshing glass of LEMONADE. To remove deals from your list, either click on the glass of LEMONADE next to the post or click directly on the deal in your list.
Why the lemon theme? At Hip2Save, we believe in squeezing the heck out of each and every lemon (deal) to get an abundance of lemonade… and we never forget to add sugar!
To register, click on the orange button labeled Register in the upper right corner of the site. You will be asked to supply a username, password, and email address. Press submit, and an activation link will be emailed to you so that you can login. (*Please note: If you get a message that your email is already registered, please use the password reset option to get your password. Some emails addresses have accounts associated with them because of past comments or other activity on the site.) Once you have logged in, you will see your Hip List on an orange band running at the bottom of the home page. Click anywhere along the orange band to open or close your Hip List.
Why the Hip List?! Do you ever have moments where you’re completely out of printer ink and really want to print a great coupon that you found on Hip2Save? Well, now you can move all the great coupons that you find into your Hip List and easily print them when your ink is refilled…No more searching through pages of posts to find the coupon. How about those moments when you really want to purchase an item but feel that it would be best to visit with your significant other first? Simply move the post to your Hip List and then easily access it when your honey is available.
A word about Internet Explorer 6: Our goal is to support every browser, except Internet Explorer 6. Internet Explorer 6 is almost 10 years old, and it is too time-consuming to support the new features on Internet Explorer 6. You will still be able to use Hip2Save…you just will not be able to take advantage of most of these new features.
Did you find a bug, typo, or have a comment?
Please use the contact form, and choose “Support” to report any problems.

Judith says:
Hey everyone! I LOVE this site, trying to start coupining and this will be very helpful… a few questions: When talking aboout coupons, what do the acronyms mean? Like RR and SS, etc?
Thanks!
Rebekah says:
RR= register rewards( coupons you get at walgreens when they are running a promotion) SS= smart source ( the coupons you get in the sunday paper might be smart source)
mary says:
Question – I just came back from CVS wanted to get the Sobe water for free. I didn’t had to paid for two. What did I do wrong.
Here’s what I did…
Gave my rewards card – sales associate rang up 4 – gave my BOGO coupons she said I could only use two coupons, because two were free anyway. Please educate me.
Stephanie says:
When there is a BOGO sale ( buy one get one free sale ), then you use a BOGO coupon with the sale. Two items and only one coupon with this type of deal. You will get both items for free. This is pretty standard with most stores and it is a great idea to print out the policy of each store that you shop. This is handy just incase you run into a new cashier, cashier having a bad day, etc.. lol.
michelle says:
what should I have done?….. I had a b1g1 free coupon for sobe and the sale was b1g1 free — tired to use my coupon and the cashier told me the sale was already b1g1 free so they would not accept my coupon! btw.. I love this site!! Thank you Collin!

Tiphanie says:
My husband loves coupons. He found a coupon for $5 off tacate beer the other day and found it on sale for $7.99. He called me to tell me he paid $3 for a 12 pack. He was so excited.
Brit says:
LOL! That is cute! My hubby used to hate coupons and wouldn’t hardly ever go shopping with me. He since then has warmed up to the idea ALOT after he saw all the money we are saving. Now when we get out at a store he says, “Aren’t you going to bring your coupon binder in?” LOL!!
Anonymous says:
Okay, I have my coupons cut and organized in my binder. Now I sit down with all the ads. How do you keep everything straight? I mean I look at my coupon for milk, then I scan all the ads for that type of milk and then who has the best price on it. Is there a better system? This will take me days! And forgive me if this is not the place to post this as you can tell I am a newbie.
Christy Peters says:
Well you can do the Milk coupon with all the ads if you really need milk. The longer you will coupon you will learn good prices. I will stock up when it is a good price. I wait untill Collin posts the stores that I shop at and then I print out her post. I then star all the deals I want to get and off to the store. I have all the coupons out already that I can, but always bring my binder as I may find great deals on clearance items or in store specials that I don’t want to miss. I then bring the printed list home and recycle the back side for coupons. Hope this will help, happy deal hunting!
Anonymous says:
GREAT! Thanks, this will help alot! I like the idea of waiting until Collin puts out the list. If I look on the site everyday someone is putting out a new deal that they found and I feel compelled to run to get it. I need to just take one store at a time and make sure to bring my binder. Thanks again!
i am a member but would not like to give out my name says:
hey, im a very mature 12 year old,my mom dosent even do coupons she has no patience. But I on the other hand have saved her so much money,I always try to find the best deals! Im getting better but i will never be as good as some of the people on this site,a lady got about 39 items such as floss, toothpaste, bodywash, deck of cards and other useful stuff for only 14 cents crazy. when i tell my mom these things she isnt really intrested but you will get better as i wam getting better ,thnks
sarah says:
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!! im 10n and doin coupons!!! i help out my mom A LOT!! my mom does coupons too and we have gotton SOOOO much closer from doin coupons. thanx hip2save!!!
kelly minor says:
First, I can not praise this site enough. I have had a blast getting free stuff and using my coupons. I can not seem to find how to go back to a date on the RP site to get previous coupons. Can you please tell me how? Thank you.
Stephanie says:
Question about printing coupons on your own—- What quality of print do you use? I had heard that if you print in the best quality you are less likely to have issues using them. Any input? Ink/paper goes FAST!
MoKeaton says:
I don’t think quality is really an issue. Most of us do Black/White to save ink. It’s more of a YMMV ( your mileage may vary) in the cashier/store you are at, then the quality of ink. HTH
Christy Peters says:
I have had stores refuse black and white as they could be copied coupons, no way to know if they are legit so I always do color.
Amanda says:
I print mine on fast draft because it uses less ink. It really helps especially when you have to print an ad along with the coupon, those stink! They always scan too, but if they ever dont they can manually enter the coupon by typing the barcode number in.
Christina says:
Collin, because of you and your site I am paying CASH for my law school tuition instead of having to take out student loans. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
ANGELA418 says:
Love this site! I have been couponing for about a month now and can’t believe I didn’t sooner. Thank you for all of your posts they are VERY helpful!!!!!
RebekahNicole05 says:
I am so confused about how to organize my coupons! I have a bunch of adds and printed coupons now, and it seems like most people organize them by product in a binder, but when Collin referrs to a Q in the Sunday Adds, she goes by 6/6 SS. So do I keep them in the add, or do I cut them out and separate them in catagories? If Catagories, does anyone have a set of catagories they use that work well?
Randee says:
RebekahNicole05,
I organized mine like that for awhile but found it was easier for me to just put them in a binder by category. Then, I can go through when I’m out and find exactly what I’m looking for. I just use a zipper binder and baseball cards. I like this site for explaining it: http://www.myslcmommy.com/search/label/organize%20coupons
RebekahNicole05 says:
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So Helpful, looks like I have a lot of cutting to catch up on
Heather says:
I love the baseball card holders and coupon binder as well! I have saved SO much be having my coupons with me. It pays big when you can grab clearance and unadvertised deals for cheap or FREE!

I just wanted you to know that I LOVE the Hip2Save website! I began couponing in Feb. this year, and have totally gotten addicted! I save on average 30% each time I go to the grocery store (I know that some of your subscribers do alot better than that, but I’m thrilled with the 30%), and love all of the freebies that I get in the mail (almost daily)- the sample sized items will be perfect for my honeymoon cruise I’m taking in July!
Thanks for creating and constantly updating Hip2Save!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Hip List! I’ve been frustrated by my own disorganization. I’ll write a deal down that I want to check out & lose it. This will help tremendously. THANK YOU!!!
Brenda says:
I’m also having problems logging in. I registered, but was unable to log in with an invalid password type of issue. Tried to get the reset password deal to work, but the link brought me back to the same login and the message in the reset email was my login name and “same password you signed up with”.
Ha ha… if that’s not the least helpful message, I’m not sure what is! hee hee.
Anyway, loving your site. There are many out there, but you seem to have hit the highlights of what I’m looking for. Thanks! Loving some of your tutorial videos and “follow me Monday” videos. Fabulous! Thanks!
P.S. Love that lemon shirt you have on in the “Welcome” tab. My hubby would laugh, since I’m always… “well, it’s FREE!” Love it!
Brendadlr says:
I came back the next day, and was able to successfully log in with my password, etc. Guess it needed time to process my registration or something.
Glad to be able to use the helpful tools on your website, like making lemonade (Hip List) from the lemon links. Awesome! Thanks!

HI everyone! I am new here……….. I have a question. If a post says a coupon can be found in the SS (smart source) on a certain date, but you can not link to that coupon, how can I get that coupon??? Is it a paper copy of a coupon, and not an internet coupon?
Thanks!
Maria
wall3lov3r says:
It is a paper copy.
IRRVSTEPH says:
I AM CONFUSED!! Hi yall I am a new user… I am very new at coupon-ing so here we go… When they have in an ad… “$2/1 coupon ” what does this mean?
and how many coupons can you use on one item in the store. Cause a lot of coupons say one coupon per item..
Mandy says:
That means $2 off 1 item….and if it’s like $3/2 that means $3 off 2 items. It wasn’t too long ago that I had that same question. As far as I know, you are allowed to use up to 1 manufacture coupon and 1 store coupon per item.
Hope this helps! : )
IRRVSTEPH says:
Thanks so much!!!! So much to learn
Everyone on here seems so helpful
Thank u

i went to proctor and gambles website and got coupons and freebies in the mail. love this site.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this site. I thought that I was a savvy couponer until I found this site. I learned so much from all of the resources available here. The best part is that my teenaged daughter loves this site as well. She said that it feels like Christmas when she opens the bathroom drawer to find new things to try. She also checks the site for American Eagle and Aeropostale coupons. I am so glad that she is learning to save money much earlier in life than I did. Thanks again
melissa says:

ok, I live in AL and we have a lot of Dollar Generals here. I have been having a lot of trouble using coupons printed out from Coupons.com. Last time I was there they said they could no longer take them and that they had a bulletin about taking any printed coupons. What is going on? They used to take them. Has anyone else been having trouble with printed coupons at other stores? Thanks Sabrina

How are you organizing your coupons? I strongly reccomend a binder method, such as the ones you find on coupon clutch.com.
