Peach Cobbler Dump Cake
yield: 8 SERVINGS
Delicious and easy to make peach cobbler dessert with just 3 ingredients needed!
Ingredients
- 1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
- 2 -16 oz. Cans Peaches, with Heavy Syrup
- 1 chilled stick of butter, 1/2 cup
- Optional: Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream
Directions
1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
2
Using a greased 9x13 cake pan, sprinkle half of the cake mix at the bottom of pan.
3
Pour peaches, with juice, evenly around the pan. Sprinkle the 2nd half of cake mix on top.
4
Lastly, use a cheese grater to grate chilled butter and add to the top evenly. (I use this method to avoid any powdery crumbs on the top after baking). You could also thinly slice butter and add to the top.
5
Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
6
Serve warm with ice cream if desired.

Looks amazing!!! I’m sooo hungry!
Thanks! And me too! 😬
Good. Peach cobbler
This is exactly how I make my blueberry cobbler! YUM.
Oh nice Holly – bet that’s great also 😀
I make mine in the Crock-Pot….keeps it warm longer especially for dinner parties.
Great idea Gina!!
Hi how long on the crock pot. Looks delicious
About 2-3 hours on high
Thank you. 😄
This post came at the perfect time! I have to make a cobbler for an event thia weekend.
Thanks for sharing the crockpot idea. Ill def try that!
So thw recipe itself is identical amd i just cook on high 2-3hrs? Does it sit well? Realistically it would sit in crock after cooking for another hr.
I do a cpl things differently…i turn on Crock-Pot; then I add cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla to the peaches in a bowl and let that sit while in another bowl I put the cake mix and cut about 3-5 tbsps of butter…I mix the cold butter and cake mix until its like crumbly. Place peaches in bottom of the Crock-Pot, then add cake mix on top. Place a clean dish towel on top then the lid. After about 2 hours check on it…you will know it’s done because it will be golden brown on top and oozing juices!
I am so trying your recipe GIna thank you for sharing. Did you do this in a small or large crockpot?
My Crock-Pot is a 4 quart
And let me know how it turns out for you😊
how much vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg did you add? I am planning to try this recipe in the crockpot. 🙂
Usually to taste but general rule…1 tsp of vanilla, 2 tsp of cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg. I mix it, taste it and add what I think it needs, usually more cinnamon!
It sits very well even better the next day…this never stays in the house more than 24 hours!
Hip2save, You should add an option to “like” comments on here, I would like this one!
I wonder if you can do this with apples if cut thin enough
Yes! We’ve tried the apple version and it’s great also 😀
I love making the apple version with a boxed spice cake. Delicious!
thanks Julie that sounds wonderful
hello Lina i would like to try this version with the apples do you think the baking time would change?
No it’s around the same or about 5 minutes longer. I would peel apples if possible. 👍🏻 Enjoy!
I make this with cherry pie filling and drained canned pineapple in place of the peaches.
Sounds yummy!
Has anyone tried this using the gluten free cake mix?
It should do just fine! Most store bought gluten free baking products are crafted to be “just like you remember”.
I did with Betty crocker GF yellow cake mix, earth balance vegan buttery sticks and it was delicious. I also sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on top before baking.
Wow, can’t get any easier than that and looks delicious. Thanks Lina! 🙂
Yum, making this for a friend this weekend. Thanks for the recipe Lina!
Off topic here but I’m curious to know, did anyone else ever receive their free tubes of Lip Smacker from this deal posted in April (see berlow) because I never did.

did anyone get the free Bumkins baby bib?
I didn’t
I didn’t either!
Thanks – took me a bit to find it as there were several posts made about that deal but I found what I was looking for – they ran out of sign up gifts and offered people $5.00 off a $35 purchase instead.
Thanks. Helpful of you to share what the result was! 🌻
No bib for me! My baby’s 1 now 😂
I did receive my bib! I love it and use it all the time with my now 7 month old
Yes I received it in June sometime. A lanyard and 3 Fanta flavored lip smackers…
I received mine a few weeks ago. 3 Lip Smackers and a Lip Smackers lanyard.
I did! Last month I believe. My sister didn’t. I received an email in June saying it was on its way
I made homemade peach jam (it’s chopped, not purée). Wonder if I can use that instead of can of peaches?
That sounds yummy! Ya I would think that’d work.
Sounds & looks yummy! Wish I had peaches in the pantry right now!
We call this “dump cake” down here in Texas. This is hands down my favorite tasty treat to make and it’s super easy!
Yeah agree! 😀
You can use 1 can of sprite instead of the butter!!! We do it all the time and it’s great!!!
Anyone have a suggestion on how to modify if I want to use fresh peaches?
You would need to add sugar to the peaches and let them for a cpl hours or overnight so they can release their juices.
How many fresh peaches to one cake mix?
I do 3-4 cups fresh or frozen fruit. Rule of thumb, enough to cover a 9×13 pan.
Looks yummy. A must try. Thank you for sharing.
I can’t wait to make this!
Do you think you could use the no sugar added canned peaches?
I do in light syrup as well… sometimes I even drain and rinse them use my own spices and coconut sugar
I made this in college and we used a box of Jiffy cake mix. It’s the only time I’ve ever used it and it is delicious!
This dessert look so scrumptious… Yummy! I need to make some of this yumminess, thank you so much for sharing this awesome recipe.
Best wishes,
Love from https://www.munchkintime.com
Thanks so much!!
Made this for dessert tonight and for someone who doesn’t really bake, I was surprised at how simple and delicious it was. Thanks for letting us know about this. This is our new family favorite!
I know! Haha
My husband was surprised to find out how easy this is to make! 😀 Thanks for sharing your results Angela!
Looks delicious! Thanks!
Imma try this at a party! How many servings does this recipe give?
I looked up servings size online and it says 12. Hope that helps – enjoy!
🙁 what did I do wrong? My mom wanted me to take it out early because she was afraid it was going to burn, but I left it in there for the full 45 and it was dark golden brown on top, but when we got where we were going with it, I went to serve it and it was doughy at the bottom. We couldn’t eat it, the consistency was like a gritty cake batter…too bad because it smelled delicious.
Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that Dee! That’s disappointing when something doesn’t turn out. It’s been awhile, but I know dump cakes can be wet at the bottom from the fruit. Maybe a thicker pie filling like cherry or apple next time?
i do craft my friend sometimes not buys out the kid
Made this again for my co-workers!! A hit again & again!!! Love how simply delicious it is
Oh good!! I’m so glad and thanks for sharing 👍
I make this using Butter Pecan cake mix and sprinkling chopped pecans over the butter layer. Yummm
Lina I love your recipes! Do you have an ice cream cake recipe? I made my first ice cream cake. It turned out pretty well except the cookie dough crust was so HARD we could barely cut into it. I used a chocolate chip cookie crumble in the middle of two ice cream layers with homemade fudge. Any ideas on cake base? Thanks
Hi there! Lina does have two yummy ice cream cake ideas over here –>

Hope that helps!
I have made the peaches with spice cake mix and it is great! I love dump cakes when you need a last minute dessert for the office. It’s easy to keep everything on hand. My office’s favorite is devil’s food cake mix and cherries- like a black forest cake.
Are the cherries like the pie mix or from a jar? Sounds good!
It is the cherry pie filling in the can!
I’ve made this before and add a can of crushed pineapple, it’amazing!
Can you use peaches that are in juice or water instead of syrup?
Yes, I’m sure that’d work too.
I am sorry, but this is not ‘3-ingredient’. This is multiple-multiple-ingredient. I get excited seeing these recipes, but then disappointed seeing ‘1 box of yellow cake mix’.
I think you might be confused. You don’t make the cake mix. You use it as-is. So the three ingredients are peaches, butter, and dry cake mix.
Try this instead. It’s more than 3 ingredients, but you’ll know what’s in it, and it seems like less work to me.
1 stick butter, melted
2/3 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1-1 lb. can peaches
Put butter, milk & vanilla in 1-1/2 qt. baking dish. Mix flour, sugar & baking powder, then mix dry ingredients into butter/milk mixture. Pour undrained peaches on top. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 1 hour.
Best recipe ever! My husband’s grandma gave this recipe to me- Lazy Day Peach Cobbler:) I add a little more butter and the edges are crispy and delicious. Thank you for posting! Making it today💗
Kids helped me make this tonight. So Easy and so Yummy!!
I love dump cakes! You can mix them up however you like, I love to do a spiced cake mix with apple pie filling or lemon cake mix with blueberry pie filling. 🤤I always make mine in the crock pot, the best thing about it is it can keep warm through the whole party/dinner and it makes your house smell amazing!
Yum! I love those ideas Emily! Thanks for sharing ❤️
Yum! My mom has always made my grandmother’s version, with cherry pie filling and chopped pecans on the top. They call it a “Lazy Betty”. Now I want to try it with peaches!
Oh that sounds delicious 😋 thanks Heather!
Made this quick and easy dessert for supper tonight. Didn’t have ice cream, but had whipped cream! Can’t wait to make this again and serve with ice cream. This would be a great recipe for church potlucks.
Oh yay! I agree such a great one for a potluck – thanks Nana!
So, this recipe popped up in the recent app feed. I though yum, but I’m going to use cherry pie filling. I saw a red box in the back of the pantry. ✅ Got cherry pie filling ✅ When I went to dump it all together it was a box of brownie mix. Whelp, I made it anyway. It was delicious. The cherries were bubbling through the top of the brownie mix. I baked it an hour, a little longer would have been better. My husband loved it! Next up pantry organization. Lol. I think I saw that post recently too.
Oh I love that you tried it with a brownie mix! Yum – thanks for sharing ❤️👏
Hi. Do you keep it out at room temp or do you have to refrigerate it. Thxs
It is the cherry pie filling in the can!
