It always makes me wonder how they can sell this type cheaper than buying chicken and cooking it. What kind of weird chickens are they using? lol

      • k.hull

I heard on NPR that Sam’s and Costco keep their chickens at $5 to get us to come in and buy them(so much better that Walmart’s Family size almost $8) and then buy more things to go along with the dinner or maybe impulse buys

  3. Sheila

Thanks, great recipes to try! I just bought some chicken breast meat, already pulled off the bone at Costco today.

    • Lina D

I like to put my rotisserie chicken in the slow cooker with cut up onions, potatoes, carrots and celery. I add a cup of chicken broth or bouillon and some more spices and let it cook for about 5 hours on high. The chicken gets so tender. You can even get cold rotisserie chicken from Walmart at half price. You can also freeze the chicken and put in the slow cooker frozen.

  9. Laura

i’m always trying to find new recipes for extra chicken you have on hand! Thanks for these. A few other of my go to’s that are so simple, as in it takes 5 minutes on a busy night and you have left over chicken, are chicken pot pie, cheesy chicken and rice casserole and chicken and broccoli wrapped in refrigerator croissants! And my teens love them all which makes it a win/win in my book:)

We are making Hawaiian Haystacks with ours for lunch today. I love making chicken pot pie with this, a bag of frozen vegetables a can of condensed soup/gravy and top it off with canned bread. It cooks super fast.
