You can compile this idea is a 9×13 casserole dish, or make individual cakes to go using these mini loaf pans with lids! I even wrapped up mine up with a cute shovel-shaped spoon. Tips for making Easter dirt cake:

  • Consider making these carrot chocolate-covered strawberries to place on top of your OREOs.
  • I used a food processor to crush OREO cookies, but you could consider placing them in a storage bag and crushing with a rolling pan.
  • 9×13 pan instructions: Assemble by adding half of the cookie crumbs to the pan, then the filling, and the remaining crumbs on the top. Decorate with sprinkles, Peeps, and candy carrots. Refrigerate, and scoop to serve!
  • Store covered for up to 4 days in the fridge. This makes an excellent make-ahead dessert!

Let’s discuss how great this OREO dirt cake idea is!

It’s almost like a thick rich chocolate mousse and the cookies soften into a cake texture. It’s honestly so GOOD. My family was obsessed with this. What a yummy and easy no-bake treat to compile!

So funny. My mother used to tell me that when I was little she bought Oreos I would eat the creme and throw away the cookies. She stopped buying them. Now as an adult I only buy the golden ones. So funny considering that I didn’t remember that at all.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Such a fun memory, Patricia. ❤️ I love the golden ones now too! 💛😋
