Make 4 Ingredient Everything Bagel Chicken Tenders in the Air Fryer or Oven

Everything Bagel Seasoned Chicken Tenders

yield: 4 SERVINGS

prep time: 15 MINUTES

cook time: 18 MINUTES

total time: 33 MINUTES

Directions

1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Stack a metal cooling rack on top of a baking sheet pan.

2

In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and Everything Bagel seasoning together.

3

In another small bowl, whisk the eggs together.

4

Dredge each chicken tender in the egg mixture first, and then coat with the breading. Place them on the pan. Spray each side well with the cooking spray.

5

Bake for about 16-18 minutes in the oven until browned and fully cooked. Chicken tenders are cooked when the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. I use an instant-read thermometer to check.

6

Optional Air Fryer Cooking Directions:

Place the chicken fingers inside the air fryer so they are not touching. Cook at 400 degrees for 5 minutes on each side. Use a meat thermometer to make sure they are cooked through to at least 165 degrees. Repeat 2nd batch if needed.

My kids loved this idea, and it was easy to make as a last-minute meal idea using just 4 staple ingredients I already had on hand – yippee!

Go to Hip2Keto.com for the easy keto version of this recipe using pork rinds instead of breadcrumbs!

everything bagel seasoning from costco

You can either make this everything bagel seasoning yourself or buy it.

We have a recipe for the homemade version on Hip2Keto.com that is handy to have on hand. I actually used to buy the Trader Joe’s version, but now buy the large economy size of everything bagel seasoning at Costco as it’s inexpensively priced around $5 at my store for 11.5 oz.

It includes a mix of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic, onion, and salt that can be added to a variety of foods including this cheese ball appetizeravocado toast, and air fryer bagels. YUM!

Like my pull-down spice organizer from The Container Store? It’s perfect for higher cabinets and I love using it to organize large and small spice containers.

Tips for making the best Everything Bagel Chicken Tenders:

  • You can make these in the oven or the air fryer and I have included directions for both. I honestly think the air fryer comes out slightly crispier and enjoy that texture very much!
  • Spraying the chicken tenders with coconut oil spray results in crispy, browned breaded chicken tenders!
  • Use chicken tenders for this idea, or cut raw boneless chicken breasts into thin long tenders first. I actually bought chicken tenders in my last Butcher Box order that I used for this recipe. They are organic and really yummy!

Check out what my teammate Jenna had to say after making these for her family:

“I seriously want to try Everything Bagel seasoning on EVERYTHING… what an awesome flavor combination! This was so quick and easy to throw together and is now my favorite chicken tender recipe. We make chicken tenders a lot in this house thanks to picky eaters, and it was so awesome to have a new flavor! Everyone loved these and we will definitely make them again! P.S. These reheat nicely in the air fryer- YAY!”

I don’t have a Trader Joe’s where I live, and I’ve found what (I think) the same seasoning blend at Aldi’s—it’s called Everything Bagel seasoning, also.

Oh perfect yep that’d work great here!

Another tip: instead of eggs, I have used mayo for the coating. The seasoning sticks better to it. You can use low-fat or fat-free mayo also. It adds another layer of flavor to the chicken.

Great tip! I love that idea.
