While many major retailers are closed on Thanksgiving and even more are closed on Christmas, you’ll find that most stores remain open on New Year’s Day. For some retailers, it’s business as usual, while others do adjust their in-store shopping hours, which are subject to change.

To help you make your New Year’s Day plans, we’ve compiled a list of stores and retailers that are expected to be open on January 1st, 2025.

While most major pharmacies are open on New Year’s Day, you may find that the actual pharmacy counter may be closed. This is true for many grocery stores and other major retailers with in-house pharmacies too.

With this in mind, you may want to have your prescriptions refilled before the holiday, if possible. If you need to have a prescription filled on January 1, check with your local pharmacy to confirm their New Year’s Day hours.
