Amazon Prime Day is coming!

Did you know that Amazon Prime Day is coming up on October 13th this year? Even better, there are smart & easy ways you can earn some spending money to use towards your purchase come October 13th and 14th! I’m sharing a few easy ways to score at least $60 in Amazon credit to make Amazon Prime Day deals even more enticing!

1. Shop Small on Amazon and get $10 when you spend $10.

Shop the Support Small Businesses on Amazon! Spend just $10 or more, and get a $10 credit back to spend on Amazon Prime Day! This campaign is near and dear to my heart since I personally love shopping small. Now more than ever we should be supporting small businesses so this is a no-brainer for us!

Need some ideas? Buy one of these small shop items on Amazon to score your $10 credit:

2. Submit a Happy Friday idea for a chance at a $10 Amazon eGift Card.

Share a frugal living tip with us via our Happy Friday series, and if we post your submission to the site, we’ll send you a $10 Amazon eGift card! Check out these tips to helping your chances of having your submission picked.

3. Spend $10 at Whole Foods for $10 Amazon credit.

Back for another year, this popular promotion gets you $10 in Amazon credits to spend on Amazon Prime Day when you make a purchase of $10 or more at Whole Foods Market. Simply make your purchase between September 28th and October 14, 2020, in-store or on Whole Foods Market on Amazon.com or Prime Now. Scan your Prime Code or use your linked mobile phone number at checkout at a U.S. Whole Foods Market store.

*Online purchases must be for products sold by Whole Foods Market for delivery or pickup (look for “sold by Whole Foods Market” on product detail page). Limit one per customer.

4. Consolidate prepaid cards onto one Amazon gift card.

If you have an assortment of prepaid cards in varying amounts, use them to reload your Amazon Gift Card, and combine the varying values to spend all in one place.

To do this, just head over here and type in whatever remaining balance you have left on your card in the “$ Enter an Amount” field. Add the card to your cart and head to checkout, then add that prepaid card as your form of payment. Once the transaction is complete, you can delete that card from your account here.

“I took all my prepaid rebate cards that have random small amounts like $2.18 or $4.32 on them and reloaded my Amazon Gift Card balance. It’s so much easier than trying to keep track of the balance and have them charge that exact amount only at the store. I ended up with around $19 more to spend for Prime Day!” – Stacy

5. Score a $10 bonus when you reload $100 or more on an Amazon gift card.

First-time gift card reloaders can earn a $10 bonus when adding $100 or more to an Amazon gift card connected with your Amazon account. Head over to their gift card offers page to see if you’re eligible.

6. Earn $5 when you use Amazon Cash for the first time.

When you try Amazon Cash for the first time and add $30 or more to your Amazon balance, you’ll automatically earn a $5 Amazon Credit towards your next purchase on Amazon.com and you’re free to use it on Prime Day, too!

Your discount will automatically be applied at checkout and is limited to one per Amazon customer account.

7. Redeem loose change at Coinstar for Amazon gift cards and earn free $5 Amazon credit.

Empty out those pockets, crack open your piggy bank, flip the couch cushions, and bring all your loose change to the nearest Coinstar machine. Upon redemption, choose the Amazon Gift Card payout so you receive the full value of your change and have it ready to spend come October 13th.

Even better, if you pour $30 or more into a Coinstar kiosk and choose the Amazon Gift Card Payout, you’ll receive an additional $5 Amazon Credit towards your next purchase on Amazon.com! Head HERE for more details.

8. Use the Amazon App (for the first time) for up to $25 in credit.

Newbies to the Amazon App can earn Amazon credit in 3 ways for a max of $25 offered:

I ordered Himalayan pink salt from San Francisco Salt Company. A five pound bag was 12.99 and I got the $10 credit.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      Great find, Lana!

  2. Kim

Also keep in mind credits don’t stack, they get applied in separate orders and also amazon credits can only be applied to items only shipped and sold by Amazon – I found out the hard way

    • ColetteH

So can you purchase multiple items from small companies and get the $10 credit more than once? Then you use them in multiple transactions on prime day? Is that what you’re saying? I’ve never participated in prime day before.

      • Cheryl72

You can only get 1 $10 credit per promotion you do. So if you buy something from a small business order & get a $10 credit for it, you wouldn’t get it again for that promotion, but can for the other’s.

        • irvins

But if i got a 10$ credit from small biz, 10$ credit from amazon go, 10$ credit from whole foods, 10$ credit from amazon 4-star….
will those “stack”? ie. can i get 40$ off of a Kindle Paperwhite in one shot. or do i have to make 4 different orders …

  3. Katherine

I have never thought to load my random prepaid gift cards onto Amazon before! This is so brilliant! I hate when I get these cards, because I always have like 3 or 4 dollars left and they are such a pain to use at a store. Thank you for this!

    • Debbie Miller

Hi Katherine! I also have random cards and have been trying to add to Amazon…how did you do it? Thanks for any help 😊

  4. hip2trade

Thanks! You can also get $10 Amazon by adding your discover card. It’s account specific I believe. You have 30 days to use your $10 plus it works on the Starbucks gift card sold by ACI, an amazon company. Must be used on items sold and shipped by Amazon.

*adding your discover card as a payment method on Amazon*

      • QueenLeeLee

Hello, I don’t mean to beat this to death but there’s been some issues I have had to learn the hard way myself. I do understand your purchases must be shipped and sold by Amazon. To clarify from above: 1.) A.)”They don’t stack”- Assume I had shopped 3 different small stores and earned $10GC at each store. If I wanted to purchase an Echo for $50, then I could not combine & use the $30 GC amount I earned and would only be able to use $10. Is that correct? 1B) Why could you not just add them into one Amazon Gift Card with a running total? 2A)Can you only earn $10 Amazon GC at a qualifying small business stores A.) Regardless of how much you spend in one visit? 2B) Can you go to the same store more than once to make another purchase of at least $10 to earn another $10 GC? 3.) Is there a limit on how many you can earn? Sorry so many questions but one time I literally was on the phone for over 4 hours and passed on to more Amazon employees I could count so hoping these questions are clear. Thank you so much!!

        • hip2trade

On question 1A, I would just do a test run on a cart and see what works and what doesn’t. The $10 from the discover/amazon promotion just shows up in your cart after you add the discover card and the promotional code DISCOVER10, and first add an eligible item. It does seem Practical with some of the promotions that you could just add your amazon gift card to the balance, unless they are the type of promotional codes that just show up in your cart upon checkout? As far as I know the $10 can be earned at any small business store listed? Not sure how many you can earn at this point.

  5. Mendy

I did the Amazon Klarna deal from T-Mobile Tuesday and joined as a vibe member with them. It says after I make any purchase through them I will get another $10 Amazon gift card.

    • hip2trade

I don’t have T-Mobile but had signed up with Klarna and same deal. Would be something to check into for those with or without T-Mobile.

      • Mendy

If you go to My Klarna within the app and rewards then check if you have the Amazon for one vibe. If so then after you make one purchase it will give you the $10 Amazon. But you have to sign up for Vibe their rewards program.

        • hip2trade

          Ok thanks! 🙂

    • amanda209

The T-Mobile deal was supposed to be $5 for just signing up for Klarna. I have not received it either and doubt Klarna will honor this.

      • hotcocoa

I received my $5 gift card.. It takes up to 48 hours.

  6. JJ

I had a deal pop up on Prime, if I watched any Prime Video movie or TV show , get $5 credit, which I got a day later

  7. Angela G.

Can you confirm the Whole Foods and small business credits are not exclusive of each other (i.e. you can earn both?)

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

They are listed as separate offers on Amazon.

    • Shawn

You can earn all the rewards or bonuses that are listed.
You cannot earn the Support Small more than once.

  8. juliet

I did the small business purchase but never got a confirmation for the $10 dollar credit or displayed on my account.

    • Blessed

      me too!!!!

  9. Diane

I’ve been keeping my monthly Verizon up rewards for Amazon!

  10. Jessicaci

We have an Amazon store in our mall and just recently made a purchase of $11. At checkout, I was told I’d get a $10 credit on prime day. WooHoo!

    • rochellemcgee

We are getting one in Orlando soon… What are they selling? Is it popular items like the treasure trucks offer or random stuff they’re clearing out of nearby warehouses?

  11. Becky M

I didn’t know about the CoinStar deal. Thanks!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      You’re so welcome!

  12. rochellemcgee

I bought a Halo Sleepsack Swaddler (lamb scribble) for an upcoming baby shower from aden + anais and I received the credit. I didn’t know aden + anais were considered a small business; seems crazy as I see their products everywhere and I just read the company is with $100M+… Anyway, another option for people looking to earn the Prime credit!

    • rochellemcgee

      worth* $100M

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh cool! Thanks for sharing your find with us!

  13. Mary

Can you do the small business $10 more than once?

    • Tonia Klemetson

I was wondering that too. I never got one from the reusable Swedish clothes.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Mary! That offer is limited to one per account.

  14. Gigi

Thanks, added gift cards for additional amt to my acct.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Awesome! You’re so welcome, Gigi!

  15. Debbie

How can you see if you’re eligible for the $5 promotion when buy $50 gift card? All I see when I click through is a blank page with gift cards for all occasions at top of page.
