Goodbye winter. Hello, March & hot savings!

March is full of new beginnings! Not only do we get to spring our clocks forward on March 14th, but it also means spring sales are coming soon for gardening, spring cleaning projects, and possibly a little spring break getaway.

The arrival of March also means new opportunities to save money! If you pay attention to annual sale cyclesholidays, and national promotions, it’s easy to anticipate what the best deals will be this month based on a predictable pattern of trending topics. To celebrate, we’re sharing some of the BEST items to buy in March!

Here are the 5 smartest spring sale purchases to make during the month of March…

1. Gear up with some new luggage in March for your upcoming getaways.

Luggage collects dust in stores between holiday travel sales and summer vacation sales. Last year we saw luggage go on sale at The Home Depot for as much as 65% off! So score some savings on the inventory still left from November and December before the new stock arrives for the warm days to come!

If you can’t wait for a deal, we also have a couple of affordable recommendations you can shop right now such as this IT luggage carry-on that Collin loves traveling with! It’s just $67 on Amazon and they even claim to be the most light-weight luggage ever. To top it off, they’re amazingly easy to maneuver around the airport and fit perfectly in the overhead compartment!

Read why Collin only brings carry-on luggage when she travels.

With Spring coming in the month of March, every retailer will be making room for fresh new spring and summer items. That means you’ll be able to score some seriously awesome deals on outerwear if you know you or your kiddos are due for a new jacket.

Last year, we saw incredible deals from many retailers like 50% off North Face at Dick’s, 60% off at Marmot, half-off Carhartt, 75% off at REI, deep discounts at Eddie Bauer, 65% off Columbia, and even 80% off kid’s jackets at Macy’s. Plus, if you wait until about halfway through March, the discounts get even better… Dick’s was offering up to 75% off Patagonia, and even JCPenney was offering up to 90% off outerwear!

3. Get Black Friday sales in March on a new Smart TV.

If you missed the major Black Friday sales a few months back for a new TV, you’re still in luck because March is a great time to also score spring sales on major electronics. With all the major holidays behind us and people looking forward to heading outdoors as the weather warms up, retailers are focused on pushing their remaining inventory before summer.

Last year, we saw deals on Smart TVs from savings at Costco on 65″ TVs to over $100 off 55″ TVs at Walmart.

4. You & your wallet will feel replenished with a new water bottle at up to 75% off in March.

You can score just about any water bottle brand on sale this month too. Last year, we saw deep discounts like 75% off Contigo, $7.99 S’well bottles, 50% off CamelBak bottles, and even 25% off Hydro Flask which typically only happens during Black Friday. (Psst… we even saw a rare Yeti cooler sales in March if you need a place to store all your bottles or food.)

With people already starting their New Year’s resolutions and likely scooping up a new bottle right after the holidays, you can take advantage of these spring sales before they go back up in the peak of summer when people are focused on staying hydrated.

Or they also make stackable singles if you only have a few bottles to store. They’re perfect for all your water bottles and even wine too! 👏

5. Eating in-season produce is the best way to save on eating healthy.

Get the goods while the getting’s good. Produce is obviously at its best (and lowest price) when it’s in season! So make sure you’re saving when buying the best in-season fruits and veggies in the spring. You’ll be well on your way to whipping up some amazing dinners like our much-loved Lemon Roasted Chicken recipe.

Here are the different produce items you should buy in March:

  • Greens: broccoli, cabbage, spinach, asparagus, lettuce
  • Root vegetables: parsnips, radishes, leeks, shallots
  • Citrus fruits: lemons, limes, grapefruit, tangerines, oranges
  • More green produce: artichokes, avocados, peas
